Bernice Johnson Reagon is a singer, songwriter, and scholar who was active in the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The daughter of a baptist minister, she served as Music consultant, producer, composer, and performer on several award-winning film projects and was the conceptual producer and narrator of the award-winning radio series Wade in the Water, African American Sacred Music Traditions.
