5 Ways to Use Custom Calendar View in inMotion ignite to Manage Your Work

Calendars are an important tool for marketing and creative teams to keep track of the many projects and campaigns they have going at any given time. Calendars in Inmotion Ignite allow creative and marketing teams to create and save multiple customer Calendar views to track and manage their work. Here are 5 ways to use custom calendar views in inMotion ignite to manage your work.

Track an individual person’s work

One of the most straightforward calendars you can make in inMotion ignite is one to track your own work, or the work of any direct reports you might have. Use the “Members” filter to view only work that includes selected members. This can be useful as a weekly check-in to see what you have coming up for the next couple of weeks, as well as for 1:1 meetings to review a direct report’s ongoing projects. You can also keep tabs on the bandwidth of individual team members with their individual calendars.

View a team’s work

If you have sub-teams within your marketing and creative teams, calendars can be a helpful way to keep track of what each team is working on. For example, if you have a dedicated web or digital team you can build a calendar that only includes the work of the members of that team. This is an easy and visual way to break out the work of a specific team separately from what the rest of the team is working on.

Review work by status stage

Set up calendars based on the status stage of your work. A “To Do” calendar will let you see what tasks and projects are coming up next. An “In Progress” calendar gives you insight into what your team is currently working on so you can stay on-track. Finally, a “Completed” calendar is great for looking back to see what key projects and campaigns were completed in a month.

Organize work by type

Saved Calendar views in inMotion ignite allows you to filter what types of work you see. You can choose which combination of tasks, proofs, projects, and campaigns you want to see on your calendar. Building dedicated calendars for proofs, for example, can help you keep track what is out for review and which proofs have been finalized. Dedicated project or campaign views give you a high-level view of what your team is working on longer-term.

Keep quick turnaround work moving

Many creative teams receive frequent requests for quick turnaround work, like rush and fast-track projects. It is very important to carefully manage these types of requests in order to keep your team from being sidetracked or pulled in too many directions. Tag quick-turn around work and pull it all into a single calendar to see how many quick-turnaround projects your team is working on. You can also further segment the calendar by selecting which members’ work to view, so you can see if one team member in particular is being inundated with rush projects.
