Capturing History
Today was day 1 of the covid-19 mandatory Lockdown in New Zealand.
We are all home, in our bubbles, saving lives by not spreading the virus.
Along with everyone else, I’m experiencing plenty of anxiety as Living in uncertainty is not easy. I’m also making as much artwork as I can as it has a calming influence.
We are living through amazing event. History in the making.
This morning I decided I’d like to capture my experience by adding a small snippet to a large sketch/diary each day. To capture the history, and also to give me an outlet for my feelings.
Since I’m not a huge fan of “every day” sorts of projects, that really means “most days.”
I don’t anticipate anything elaborate or fancy or even a good piece of art when I am finished. Some days it might be more words than sketching. It’s all good. It’s the process I’m more interested in than the final outcome.
I’ll share my progress every week or so here on the blog and on social media.
