Fully black watches are extremele popular and Omega recently presented the Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black, a full black version of its famous diving watch. Taking advantage of ceramic’s versatility, the Swiss brand designed a timepiece in contrasting shades from a single colour while ensuring that all required dive watch functions are available. The 43.5 mm x 14.47 mm polished-brushed case is crafted from black ceramic [ZrO2] and equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a laser ablated black ceramic ring with polished Diving Scale in positive relief. The crown and the helium escape valve are also made in black ceramic.

Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the ceramic dial is black but still easy-to-read in all light conditions thanks to the anthracite Super-LumiNova coating used for the diving scale, the black PVD indexes and skeleton hands, and the dot at 12 o’clock. Blue emissions are used for the hour and seconds hands as well as for the hour markers while the bezel dot the and minute hand glow in green.
Most elements on the dial have been laser ablated. From the iconic waves to the minute track, wording and even the Omega symbol, the details have been crafted in positive relief starting from just one single piece, just like for the diving scale of the unidirectional bezel.
Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the automatic Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 beats at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 55 hours. Featuring a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring, it is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 Gauss.
The watch is secured to the wrist by an integrated black rubber strap with a buckle in polished-brushed black ceramic (fitting: 21 mm between lugs, 18 mm on buckle). Water resistant to a pressure of up to 30 bar (300 metres / 1,000 feet), the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black will be available from July 2021 with a price of Euro 8,700 (including VAT) / US$ 8,650 (excluding sales taxes).
