During the lifetime of the Ballards, journalists hadn't themselves personally studied the numerous books and channeled communication transcripts chronicling the Ballards' experiences with 'ascended masters,' as metaphysical blogger Mark Russell Bell has done. These blog articles and some preceding ones show what was momentous about the Ballards and the "I AM Presence" Messages that launched the 'I AM Movement' during the 1930s.
The Ballards found themselves in a relatively unique predicament and dedicated themselves to chronicling the Divine Dispensations / transcendental communication that they experienced. They also became the targets for what ultimately proved to be ineffective litigation brought about by people who responded to them with incorrect assumptions and estimations about their incentives.
In his first book Unveiled Mysteries (1934) Guy using the pen name 'Godfré Ray King' wrote about the astonishing events in his life: "I was led step by step to realize and accept the Mighty God 'Presence' within my own Being—the 'Light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world'—the 'Christ.' A way to make contact with the 'Light,' Its All-Knowing Omnipresence, and Unerring Activity was revealed to me, and I give it to the reader in these pages."
Guy reported that "the Ascended Masters, whose help I have received, have said to me often: 'The more humanity can accept our "Presence," the wider they open the door for us to pour greater and greater help to them; but the rejection of us, by those who do not agree with this Truth, does not remove us or that Truth from existence and activity in the universe.'"

The ancient Eastern word 'Kumara' was defined by Sanskrit expert Judith M. Tyberg in a 1970 book as ". . . the soul of man revealed in its universality."
