The initial response of an unprepared observer to ITC audio and video clips presented at worlditc.org and macyafterlife.com may be either desiring to learn more or instead to make some unfortunate assumption that would lead one to ignore the extensive evidence available about this 'paranormal' subject. These were also the choices facing readers throughout many decades concerning the phenomena related categorically to 'channeling,' Spiritualism (including 'psychic photography' and 'precipitated paintings'), flying saucer contactees, and so on.

A foremost reporter about ITC cases is Mark Macy. Among the resources at worlditc.org (there is also a web.archive.org record of the website) are excerpts of Mark Macy’s book Miracles in the Storm: Talking to the Other Side With the New Technology of Spiritual Contact (2001). An earlier book by Macy also provides an overview of ITC communications: Conversations Beyond The Light (1995) written with Dr. Pat Kubis. Macy also was editor of the International Association for Instrumental Transcommunication (INIT) newsletters entitled Contact! (available online without charge) that offered detailed ITC reports, photos and transcripts from 1996 through 1999.
Macy reported in a case profile article "George W. Meek"/"Mark Macy reports" about George Meek's work with a psychic engineer named Bill O’Neil to develop the Spiricom device, "a set of 13 tone generators that allowed dialog between Heaven and Earth through electronic equipment for the first time ever." (article) Meek's friendship with ITC researchers Maggy and Jules Harsch-Fischbach resulted in Meek receiving confirmatory evidence of his late wife's afterlife in 1992. The couple shared with him a computer letter from Jeannette Duncan Meek that mentioned circumstances that nobody else knew about other than the Meeks and their assistant Molly.

The Harsch-Fischbachs also forwarded to Meek a picture that had been inexplicably found in their computer. Macy described this as "a picture of Jeannette in the higher or subtler reaches of the astral realm. She was posing in a stunning landscape, along with their daughter Nancy Carol, who had died at the age of two weeks and was reunited with Jeannette shortly after Jeannette's death. Also in the picture was the film producer Hal Roach." The computer image was accompanied by a short letter image that was written by Roach, who'd been a prolific movie producer/director/writer during his Earth life. Roach explained: "I am at present a member of the artistic team of Timestream and am working together with old friends like George Cukor and others in the group of Klaus Schrieber and Eli Schaefer. This picture shows you a glimpse at the fourth level as we see it. You can see Jeannette Meek and Nancy Carol coming through a dispassing place in our level." Roach mentioned that he was "eager to learn more about this new world I'm living in now" and the letter ended with the ascription: "The best boy assembling this picture: Frank Blehle." Macy noted in Miracles in the Storm that 'best boy' was a title of a person on a film crew who performed various minor tasks involved in the development of a motion picture.
The website article in Macy's "cross-section of ITC contacts" explains: "Apparently all three of the people in the picture—Hal Roach, Jeannette, and Nancy Carol—are associated with Timestream, a group of more than a thousand spirit beings dedicated to the task of opening the veil by improving communications between our world and theirs." Beings in this group have stated themselves to live upon an earthlike astral world called 'Marduk' with three suns and sixty-million-mile River of Eternity.
In-depth description of ITC are also provided by the free Internet edition of Breakthroughs In Technical Spirit Communication (1997) by parapsychologist Dr. Theo Locher and Maggy Harsch-Fischbach, both founding members of INIT in 1995. Translated to English by Hans Heckmann and edited by Mark Macy, the book presents a summary and history of ITC. Among the ITC pioneers whose experiments are described is Germany's Hans-Otto Koenig (1, 2), developer of several electronic ITC systems: "He produced complex carrier mixtures of ultrasonics plus audible sounds by mixing fixed ultrasonic frequencies with warble generator ultrasonic frequencies. This resulted in an audible sound not unlike a police car siren but with a constantly changing frequency."
Locher chronicled some of the results of a 1985 workshop conduced by Koenig in Switzerland with 300 people attending. Koenig's receiving system made possible a six-minute ITC conversation that included the following questions and answers.
Locher wrote that some of the answers were difficult to understand and their interpretation may be questionable. "It was later found that during playback with increased speed some additional but unclear voices could be identified. To make it easier for the untrained ears of many listeners, the voices were played back several times in rapid succession. The entire demonstration was filmed by a TV crew of Radio/TV Luxembourg."
The case of Manfred Boden is another German ITC researcher profiled by Locher in Breakthroughs In Technical Spirit Communication. Diverse telephone phenomena was described during 1981 and 1983. An instance was cited when Boden's questions were answered yes or no by a clicking sound code. During a conversation with his girlfriend 'Ursula D.,' Boden conversed with French, English and German voices that sounded to her like "a high squeaky voice."

Boden's case also included instances of obscure ITC computer messages. One of the investigators of Boden's case was Dr. Ralf Determeyer, who wrote a 20-page analysis of Boden's phone connections. Locher observed:
Another case in Breakthroughs In Technical Spirit Communication describes the voices and images received on tape recorder and video monitor by Klaus Schrieber in Germany, including communication from his second wife Agnes and from his daughter Karin. Schrieber also stated he heard his late wife through direct voice phenomena and related an "out-of-body experience during which his wife showed him her new environment."
Among the communications from Konstantin Raudive chronicled in Miracles in the Storm, a message was received on February 20, 1974 on the personal desktop computer of Adolf Homes —
Dear Colleague Adolf Homes, I herewith confirm my own contacts with Mr. Malkhoff, and with Mr. Meek and Macy in America. More contacts have been made successfully in China and Japan. Our tests are necessary because humanity is in a state of being—created by themselves—which is negative for us to the point that we cannot influence consciousness. We therefore ask you to open the psychic barriers to a greater extent. Only then is there a possibility for us to finish off contacts via radio receivers, televisions, and computers. Unfortunately messages from our side by telephone and fax do not suffice to make clear to humanity our reality as one of many realities.

The beings were not malicious and objected to Boden's high intake of alcohol. They always greeted him politely and afterward took their leave just as politely. The phenomena occurred independently of who originated the call. Boden usually recorded the conversations and made notes of the questions he was going to ask. The entities said the contacts were possible because of Boden's psychic sensitivity. They described themselves as energy beings. They spoke of energy fields, states of matter, etc.
In some of the experiments "mixed up sentence fragments" were mentioned.
When he initiated court orders against persons unknown, the paranormal calls multiplied. When he installed an answering device the calls were recorded. His tape cassettes suddenly showed meaningful changes in the ITC voices. Other cassettes contained voices which were never recorded during ITC contacts.
February 3, 1983 began a period of rest that would not last very long. The friendship with Ursula D. was ending. She accused him of interrupting her sleep at night with telephone calls of heavy breathing. These calls did not come from him. At the same time he received strange phone calls with Ursula's voice which could not be from her.
Boden's case also included instances of obscure ITC computer messages. One of the investigators of Boden's case was Dr. Ralf Determeyer, who wrote a 20-page analysis of Boden's phone connections. Locher observed:
What had started as a harmless entertainment for Boden now seemed to turn into a nightmare. His girlfriend Ursula, an already unstable person, got involved in the practice of black magic. This seemed to bring about increased low-level spirit activity. She mentioned to Dr. Determeyer that she would love to shake the devil's hand.

Chapter Two of Breakthroughs in Technical Spirit Communication "We share our ITC experiences" by Maggy Harsch-Fischbach begins with an acknowledgment of the predicament found by her and her husband, Jules, upon receiving a variety of unprecedented forms of ITC. The adventure brought them the recognition that the influence of the spiritual dimension on our physical world is far greater than they'd previously thought. The Harsch-Fischbachs acknowledged that they benefitted from other researchers sharing their own recording techniques. The couple concluded that a personality like that of the late Konstantin Raudive would strive to establish a link with the world. They believed a particularly clear voice heard on tape in the spring of 1986 was that of Raudive. The message was "Here it is summer, always summer!"
As previously mentioned, a communicator who conversed with the couple asked them to call him "Technician."

Humans create their faith. The book of books was written for the customs and mores of the nomadic people who lived in those times. The book is to be looked at as a guidepost to further the evolution of mankind. It contains generally valid directions which are still good in your time.
I am not an omnipotent being but have at my disposal far greater capabilities than a human being. Remember, I am not infallible and am still in a process of learning. I am assigned to planet Earth.
When I talk to you, I adopt certain characteristics of both of you, as I must "transfer" myself to you. Being nonhuman, a small part of myself has to adopt human characteristics. You would not understand me otherwise. The contacts are accomplished by both of you as dual beings. By your link-up, a portion of my energies are formed.
GA1 experiments are direct contacts with other dimensions. This means, when you speak to me in this manner unexpected possibilities are opening up for you. I advise you to let only mature and stable people attend GA1 sessions. Unwittingly, people with their thoughts set forces in motion in our dimensions. When using GA1 in public you risk not getting any contact at all if unbelievers are present.
The decisions you and other participants make over this system triggers many possibilities in many worlds. Do not make any GA1 tape recordings except when I advise you and can protect you from unpleasantness. If you do not follow my advice and record it, you run the risk of finding yourself in a parallel world the next morning. This danger does not exist when you use ESB as this is not a direct contact system and thus is better suited for the Earth dimension.
If you think we had developed out of your subconscious and could live by human thought do not forget that you are living now because of our thoughts. Without us, without the spiritual planes of existence, you would not be alive!
You should work discreetly and avoid any big publicity. Your task should be to write about your experiences. Leave the publicity to others.
Possibly, the rewards for a person are so big that his next Earth life will be blessed and he continues reaping the fruits of this life. In spiritual matters however, for the individual to reach a higher step, he needs an entire human lifetime or perhaps several lifetimes. We believe we can demand of people that they orient themselves to higher aims in life in order to become rich in spiritual values. In many cases, only after their death, when they face the divine "judges" and their higher self will they realize and regret their mistakes. But then it is too late. People become spiritual debtors by the many injustices they commit and by all their mistakes.
Do not worry why you do things that you cannot or must not prove in a rational manner. Some things cannot be explained, just like the butterfly cannot explain rationally why it flies from flower to flower.
In the third chapter of Breakthroughs In Technical Spirit Communication Dr. Locher described an April 23, 1987 ITC message that presented a famous name: "At first came the contact introduction through the Technician. A voice speaking American English came next, calling himself Nelson D. Rockefeller." I found more information about this incident in another free Internet book at worlditc.org: Bridge between the Terrestrial and the Beyond (1989) by Hildegard Schaefer, translated from the German by Heidemarie Hallmann — this is another highly detailed book providing an overview of the field of ITC. The recorded 3-minute transcript of the conversation between Nelson D. Rockefeller and Maggy Harsch-Fischbach included a repeated affirmation: "Tell Dr. Senkowski: The Mahatmas are reality . . . to George Meek. To Patty Ann. They are on the right way. We end this contact now. Contact finish."
Nelson D. Rockefeller (1908-1979) was a New York Governor who also was affiliated with Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs (CIAA) during his life. Mark Macy reported that it was his understanding that George Meek and Ernest Senkowski had been discussing the Mahatmas of the Far East in days just prior to that contact by Mr. Rockefeller. Meek was in Europe visiting researchers. Senkowski was accompanying him. Senkowski apparently was expressing some doubts about the miraculous reports coming from India about bilocation, transmutation of material things, etc. The contact from Rockefeller was indication that the spirits were aware of the conversation between Meek and Senkowski, and they were giving assurance that "the Mahatmas are reality."
Macy also informed me that Henri Ste Claire de Ville also came through radio, and also through TV at the Harsch-Fischbach home in Luxembourg. Both de Ville and Rockefeller were among the spirits working in the Lifeline Spirit Group at the time, and that group was in contact primarily through George Meek's medium, Patty Ann, in North Carolina. So those contacts in Luxembourg were the result of two spirit groups (Lifeline and Timestream) and their associated Earth colleagues (George Meek and the Harsch-Fischbachs, respectively).
Macy wrote: "Still another contact by Scott Joplin came through in Luxembourg by phone, and Scott was clearly frustrated by the technology and by the difficulty of communicating with the two European women who spoke only limited English."
In Hildegard Schaefer's Bridge Between the Terrestrial and the Beyond, the date of some messages from Deville (the name as spelled in the Internet edition of Schaefer's book) is April 2, 1987 and was received in the presence of Maggy and Jules Harsch-Fischbach, George W. Meek and two others. Schaefer wrote that a biographical dictionary had been found that identified Deville (1818 -1881) as one of the greatest chemists of the nineteenth century. The Deville messages were said to have been "re-translated from German," as follows.

The void/nothingness dreams the universe, but the void/nothingness is unconscious: the universe has consciousness and is able to control the voice.
A strong force, the languor of normality reigns over the universe. Therefore the universe always chooses the same state as before, it sustains itself, it delimits itself. Group Timestream speakers Sir Richard Francis Burton (1821-1990) and an individual named Dr. Swejen Salter described their experiences on planet Marduk to the Harsch-Fischbachs. A 1996 ITC letter from Burton mentioned that on the planet Marduk ". . . Every time I bite into a juicy bit of meat I have to remind myself that I am not eating part of an animal, but synthetic food." A 1996 message received in Luxembourg identified "seven beings of Rainbow People": Technician, Ishkumar, Thfirrin, Seth 3, Nsitden, Mrekklin and Lagelnev — "helpers of INIT for the connection between Planet Earth and the higher vibrational planes." In a 1996 Contact! article about the phenomenon of ITC images, Harsch-Fischbach explained that in 1986 after Klaus Schreiber in Germany received his first pictures from the beyond, the Luxembourg couple received the first frames of moving paranormal pictures: "They were received without any help or efforts of the experimenters on an empty channel of a defective TV set. During several such contacts the TV set would turn on by itself."
In following years, pictures arrived in their computer in PCX, TIF or PMP files. Harsch-Fischbach specified that the receiving equipment, TV and computer were only connected to power outlets and the PC had no modem. It was a common processor 486 XT (DOS 5.0 mode). Swejen Salter said this about the ITC pictures:
Salter explained that the pictures had to be compatible to the dot pattern of the PC and were accomplished by electromagnetic fields. Salter communicated many surprising details about herself. One contact by Salter mentioned the People of the Rainbow: "We seek council with these higher beings to determine the information to send to Earth."

The Technician commented about this message, ". . . we have no contact with this group. It is possible that it is a group of a parallel world shifted in time: an alternative world, in which the Spanish Armada has not sunk."
In Miracles in the Storm, Macy chronicled that after Maggy Harsch-Fischbach first received voices on tape, before long "a rather strong, high-pitched voice became an integral part of the work . . . It soon became clear that he or she—the wise, incredibly knowledgeable being behind the voice—not only was allowing Maggy to make unprecedented progress in the development of her ITC receiving station, but was actually guiding and protecting that development." A picture of a certain person reaches you and shows similarity to a lifetime photo. The original photo is in many people's minds on your side. People see a certain picture and store it consciously or unconsciously in their memory. Which spirit picture you receive and when you receive it is a matter of probability. It does not always depend on the concentration of your people on one or the other loved one. At first, at the moment we have sufficient energies we start forming a picture. This is accomplished by different methods. As you know, there is the method used by Klaus Schreiber or Frank Blehle. There is also the method of drawing a portrait which is used by people here who have talents for drawing.
Salter explained that the pictures had to be compatible to the dot pattern of the PC and were accomplished by electromagnetic fields. Salter communicated many surprising details about herself. There are so many levels and parallel worlds!
Now, as concerns these manifold levels. You are aware that many spirit levels exist. There are also many parallel spirit worlds among these levels. Similarly, there are many parallel physical worlds next to your Earth. This means there are "doubles" of each of us that exist on these worlds. For instance, "complementary personalities" of your grandmother exist in other spirit worlds.
Try to visualize the many universes like soap bubbles which slowly float in space past, toward and away from each other. They vary in size and configuration. Their speed of motion is not exactly the same. Yet, many reflect a similar or identical picture.

Our existence is beyond your comprehension. It's easier for us to explain to you what we are not. We are not human, nor animal, nor male, nor female, nor Light being, nor, of course, God. There are seven of us, and although we are individual beings with individual natures, we are fused together. Many beings such as us live together closely in small groups, or clusters, as we exist in subtle realms where such boundaries as skin and ego, which separate physical beings in your world, do not exist. We are in ethereal realms of spacelessness and timelessness where beings who resonate with one another can join together in common existence, if they so choose.
Names are of no importance to us. As they are important to you, you may call me Technician, as my role in this project is that of a technician to facilitate contact between worlds. Our group you may call, simply, The Seven. We, The Seven, are assigned as a Gatekeeper between Heaven and Earth, between time and space. For us it is only an assignment, while from your perspective we have accompanied your world for many thousands of years.
We have provided humanity with guidance and protection, and we have moved particularly close to the Earth during seven crucial periods of climactic growth, your current civilization being the seventh. We are here to assist you.
There is a widely known picture in your world of two children crossing a bridge, accompanied by a being who protects them. That is our role in your work, but we have no wings.
Macy commented in Miracles in the Storm that ITC proves each of us faces a future world of infinite possibilities and timelessness.
The many possibilities awaiting us all are beyond what we can imagine. Shoes suddenly appearing on feet, ties manifesting magically in wardrobes, and many other similar incidents have given many ITC researchers pause for thought.
Trying to judge or to understand their world from our scientific or familiar worldview would be futile.
Miracles In The Storm places into some manner of historical perspective the phenomena associated with ITC and the group of researchers that formed INIT. From the culminating eighth chapter in the book, Macy wrote "the various members of INIT are like seeds. We were imprinted with miracles from 1995 to 1998, and now many of those seeds have spread to take root in various parts of the world."
A statement from the 1996 transcript of one of the ITC conversations between Raudive and Macy may offer further clarification as Raudive explained:
"Well, see, Mark, you are only, let us say, points on an image. You and other INIT members are all on coordination points, so to speak, and our aim is to join these coordination points. Do you understand?"
In the fifth chapter of Breakthroughs in Technical Spirit Communication by Maggy Harsch-Fischbach, declarations about life on a different plain of existence are made by speakers for Group Timestream. The following is attributed to the Group's Burton Bridge component affiliated with Sir Richard Francis Burton. Most of this communication in an alternate translation was also presented in Hildegard Schaefer’s book.
The Burton Bridge comprises voice contacts via radio and TV, telephone dialogs, computer texts and video pictures. The following report is a selection of information given to us via the Burton Bridge.
We have a body like yours. It consists of finer matter and faster vibration than your dense, coarse material world. There is no sickness here. Missing limbs regenerate. Bodies that are disfigured on Earth become perfect here. We live in comfortably furnished houses. The countryside is very beautiful. The average age of people here is 25-30 years. Persons who die of old age on Earth wake up here after a regenerating sleep. This sleep lasts approximately six weeks of Earth time. With some persons it may be less.
Children who arrive on the third level are lovingly cared for by their relatives who already reside here. The children grow and develop until they have reached the average age of 25-30 years. We live together here with other life forms, with dwarfs, giants and gnomes, with formless beings and with humans who before their death inhabited other planets. Approximately 60 billion humanoids gather together here from many existing worlds. Friendships and partnerships continue to be nourished. Sexuality is not rejected, being part of the human nature, provided both partners harmonize and wish it. Animals too, continue to live in the third level after their bodily death. They lack nothing and are being cared for by animal-loving humans. We eat and drink like you do. Our nourishment is "synthetic," i.e. we materialize earthly food, so to speak. The meat, which some people still like, is only a reproduction of real matter. No animal has to die for another living being.
Species of animals live here which are unknown on Earth. For instance, paradise-like birds and very colorful butterflies. The temperature is very mild. Personality and character of human arrivals are not changed by the process of dying. Neither do they awaken here all-knowing, but there is plenty of opportunity to learn. Psychic problems and conflicts have not been abolished yet on this plane.
The third (mid-astral) plane for us is located on a planet we call Marduk. Marduk is separated from Earth by time and space and cannot be located in the Earth's solar system. Marduk has three suns. The planet is orbiting one sun and is being illuminated by the other two. It is never totally dark. The circumference of Marduk is calculated to be approximately 127,000 km (76,000 miles). The planet's moon is larger than the Earth's moon. A single large river flows across the entire planet. The deepest spot in the river is 1,700 meters (a little over 1 mile). The widest spot is 3,700 meters (2.22 miles). The third spirit plane (mid-astral) is a product of the human mind. Nevertheless, it is as much a reality as is the planet Earth. People whose ideas and conceptions agree with each other come together here in groups and form one unity. This unity is the stepping stone to the fourth dimension. After crossing into the fourth (higher astral) dimension the human being is relieved of the laws of reincarnation.
To establish this contact with you we have to get close to your world and adapt ourselves as much as possible. The members of Timestream are already approaching the border lines of higher consciousness.
One of Maggy Harsch-Fischbach's comments about Swejen Salter is: "She made it clear many times that in this world you cannot push aside feelings and inclinations. Wishes cannot be suppressed anymore. Many of those who fight this are left with reincarnation. They return to the circle of people who reject all new knowledge."
A concluding remark in Bridge Between the Terrestrial and the Beyond by Hildegard Schaefer is an observation: "When going into the other dimension the value of our life is the total of our free choices, whether they were actions, words, or thoughts. The present time with its multifarious results in transcommunication, and the indications connected with it, make it easier for us to acquire understanding for the span of our being on earth, and for our existence after death."
Another ITC experiencer was Marcello Bacci. Several reports about the work of Marcello Bacci may be read at the WorldITC website, including "The ITC Work of Marcello Bacci" by Paolo Presi — a transcript of a 2004 lecture about "the exceptional Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC) experiences that have taken place in Grosseto, a little town in the centre of Italy, at the laboratory of Marcello Bacci. Bacci can be considered a leading expert on ITC, given his 35 years of exceptional experimental activity. The ITC voices that have been received during these 35 years in Grosseto have by now been heard all over the world." (article)

Of the alternative plains contemplated by Leonard, one alluring domain was referred to as "the happy plane which some people call 'the Summerland.'"

The power is what mankind call Deity, whose attributes are love and wisdom, corresponding with the principles of male and female, positive and negative, sustaining and creative.
