As a metaphysical author it has been illuminating to consider the perceptions about life articulated by diverse experiencers of 'transcendental communication.' Something that I have in common with channeler Ryuho Okawa (1956-2023) is the year of our birth. Ryuho made the transition to the afterlife last Thursday in Japan. We were born one month apart (him on July 7 and me on August 8) and each of us found ourselves confronted with indications of our lives being influenced by karmic ramifications concerning a past incarnation/s.
The decisions made in life to chronicle and document my own path of metaphysical discovery are very different in comparison to Ryuho's. While my writings have been made available to readers on a noncommercial basis, Ryuho has published more than 3,100 books worldwide that are reported to have sold more than 100 million copies in all.
It was the late afternoon on Saturday when I learned about Ryuho Okawa having made his transition to the ascended realm of human existence. My information sources were some news Article headlines with links included in a Google Alerts Email. There was unflattering commentary in the articles about Ryuho's life that evidently had been selected due to social consciousness assumptions instead of showing any particular insightful understanding about Ryuho's predicament in life as a 'channeler' — one who remains conscious while personalities representing the ascended realm speak through him. (Another contemporary channeler who remains fully conscious during channeling sessions is Paul Selig. 1, 2.)
The articles about Ryuho I read had been published at the websites of The Japan Times, the New York Post and Fox News. I also found a succinct nippon.com obituary that mentioned: "According to informed sources, Okawa was transported to hospital after he was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in the Japanese capital's Minato Ward in the early hours of Monday."
The Japan Times memorial article mentions Ryuho is the founder of the Happy Science organization and that he "began his career working at a major Japanese trading company after graduating from the University of Tokyo. . . . Happy Science, a new age movement which incorporates elements from 'all the various religions,' has over 700 branches and temples as well as 10,000 missionary houses in 166 countries around the world, according to its website."

The Fox News article headline ignominiously minimalized his channeling activity by labeling him as the "Cult leader who claimed to 'channel spirits' of Jesus, Trump and Freddie Mercury." It must have dismayed Ryuho as it does me how journalists today can be so mean and inconsiderate about subjects that they know nothing about although they might think themselves correct to ignore metaphysical subjects. Some of the 'spiritual interviews' conducted by Ryuho were with 'guardian spirits' of living people such as Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump during their 2016 presidential campaigns. As a blogger who has reported many times about the Ryuho Okawa paranormal case chronology since 2015, I can tell you that the unprecedented publication output of 'channeling' transcripts is among the evidence of authenticity; nonetheless, Ryuho has been almost completely ignored throughout Western news media. Similar to other experiencers of transcendental communication, his psychic predicament was subject to his own interpretation in regard to his unusual circumstances in life. Ryuho has affirmed that he "dedicated my whole life to spreading God's Truth" and his case provides a pattern for others in consideration of aspects of the human mind and origination of thoughts. Ryuho commented in The Next Great Awakening (2011): "The spiritual entity who wishes to be heard uses the speech center of my brain to choose the proper words." Each physical Earth life is a brief interim in comparison with eternity. Ryuho lives on with a spirit body.
In recent years transcripts have been published of 'spiritual interviews' with 'space beings' with names such as 'Yaidron,' 'Metatron' and 'R. A. Goal.' The latter has been described as 'a certified messiah from Planet Andalucia Beta in Ursa Minor.'
My first blog article about Ryuho Okawa was posted after I learned about him at the 13th Annual Los Angeles Conscious Life Expo. I reported —
At the center of Okawa's teachings is 'El Cantare,' who is described in the Overview brochure: "El Cantare is the spiritual name of the God, which means 'the light of the Earth,' whom Happy Science believers follow and worship. He is the united consciousness of Buddha and God." It seems that in this instance 'Buddha' expresses the same meaning as the name 'Christ' while 'El Cantare' might also be understood as another way of expressing the traditional metaphor of 'Holy Ghost'/'Holy Spirit.'Here is an excerpt from the article "How to Understand the Importance of El Cantare's Love".El Cantare has a cosmic characteristic. El Cantare's cosmic expression of love has been interwoven within the very fabric of the consciousness of the universe. As I've explained in many of my books, humanoids and human-like beings live all throughout space and on other planets.These beings are significantly different from humans in appearance, but they also receive teachings on "The Origin of Love," which directly flow from the Spring of Love. El Cantare is the name of this "Spring of Love," which I liken to a tree-like structure in the universe. El Cantare appears to me as a tree of universal life-force. El Cantare exists at the heart of the birthplace of every human-like being.
In the article "Channeling the 'Guardian Spirits' of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump" I acknowledged that — Readers unfamiliar with Ryuho's case may be startled with the grandiosity as he is labeled as one "who holds the greatest spiritual power." As I mentioned in the article "Channeling - Discovering Our Divinity with Ryuho Okawa" Ryuho perceived that he was the only person on Earth to have the mission of teaching the laws of salvation to save humankind — The all-knowing spiritual Source evidently knew such an interpretation was inevitable [for Ryuho]; perhaps this is the reason for use of the 'El Cantare' cryptogram in the first place.
In the article "Some Observations about 'Channeling'" I observed:
Sometimes a perspective of Ryuho Okawa as "the Savior" is presented in his books; however, regarding a single person as a lone 'savior' to bring enlightenment to people worldwide is to ignore the angelic Force that is the omnipresent Source making all 'channeling' possible. It is the responsibility of each experiencer of 'divine grace' to make available their knowledge for the benefit of others.
In the article "Emphatic Perspectives of Life from the Other Side" I included commentary from another channeling case chronology to help readers unfamiliar with this phenomena to develop a perspective of the psychic abilities of people like Ryuho Okawa:
"It is like pouring water into a mind. And if you pour water into a vessel that is shaped round, the water will be round-shaped in that vessel. Therefore the words that we pour through human instruments are certain to take the shape of the mind of that instrument, although the essence of that message may well remain. This is our difficulty. Some instruments are better than others. Psychic gifts are not necessarily spiritual. It is a gift that is like music. Remember this. Not all those who are endowed with the gift of music may lead lives that are exactly spiritual in nature. We make use of what material is available. Therefore, place not people upon pedestals in your exploration. Assess them and know them." —'Chang' through Douglas Johnson
An update to the article "Ryuho Okawa Channeling Update with UFOlogy/Cosmology Aspects Noted" mentions a report about frightful channeled messages from a personality proclaiming himself 'King Midas' being heard to speak through Ryuho in February 2022.
". . . he said that human beings are becoming arrogant due to their belief in scientific omnipotence and added that the increasing risk of war caused by an increasing population may decrease the global population. A wave effect will break out in the U.S., Japan, Europe, India, Russia and the Islamic states, according to the spirit."The crisis will continue for another three years as a 'trial period' of whether or not humankind can change their preexisting mindset, said the spirit. It was also said that if humanity's mindset is not 'purified' in the next three years, major shifts in Earth's environment such as continental sinking may result in a population reduction."
In Messages from Heaven: What Jesus, Buddha, Moses, and Muhammad Would Say Today (2015), I concluded:
Upon reading the transcript of the channeled discourse attributed to 'Jesus Christ,' it is evident that the objective of the commentary is not to prove the identity of the communicator but to encourage reflection of spiritual truths. It is as if the figurative embodiment of Jesus Christ as formulated in the 1611 King James Bible is addressing contemporary people. I found myself having a similar impression while reading the transcripts of the three other discourses featured in Messages from Heaven in relation to extant scriptures and popular understanding of these adulated religious figures.
The vast succession of personalities speaking through Okawa bring attention to the Spiritual Force manifesting the phenomena.
The 'Moses' spiritual interview includes these statements —
The spirit world is divided into different levels, but the idea that a hierarchy exists can be dangerous if it is taken to an extreme. We must not allow this idea to lead to discrimination. We should always adopt a balanced way of thinking that unites our perception of difference with our commitment to equality. It is important to stress that all human souls are equal.
God's essence is our essence. In the beginning, we were all given equally precious souls, and our souls then gained spiritual training over the course of countless reincarnations.
The killer who knows that killing is a sin will be in agony as his good conscience and evil mind are pitted against each other.

. . . this world is not eternal. It is nothing more than a place for soul training.
Death is unavoidable. And people don't really get to choose how they die. So, ultimately, there is nothing you can do about it. It's just a matter of how meaningfully you use the time given to you and how well you use it to improve your soul.
When miracles happen, I want you to realize that you are witnessing the glory of God, and that the recipients of such miracles are expected to achieve things worth those miracles.
In "Paranormal Phenomena As Divine Revelation (Part 2)" I mentioned a significant lesson that may be learned from my own documented transcendental communication experiences.
The case study of my own paranormal initiation Testament concluded with the realization that 'chosen ones' are no different from anyone else in that each person must be one's own savior. Although I didn't know it back then, working as a movie studio publicity writer in Hollywood while in my spare time researching and writing about the paranormal would provide me with the appropriate insights to prepare me for an unexpected path of spiritual discovery beyond anything I'd seen on the screen.
After I published Testament and the first portions of the sequel book online in 1997, I eventually began researching other documented cases of paranormal phenomena and transcendental communication to see what could be further learned. In comparison, Ryuho dedicated himself to chronicling the channeled perspectives coming through himself without being able to intensively consider the gamut of information that may be found in other documented cases of psychic mediumship/channeling.
I'd always attempted to make my various channeling articles known to editors associated with Ryuho Okawa's websites so that they might perhaps inform him about this information that could enable him to further develop his perceptions about the Divine Gifts of channeling. If Ryuho could have become more aware that many other people share the purpose of educating others about the metaphysical, spiritual and cosmological aspects of life making possible expanded consciousness in relation to leading a morally responsible life benefiting other people, perhaps he wouldn't have felt the intense need to reach the unattainable goal of succeeding in his effort to make known to all people worldwide that—as worded in his books—"Currently, the core consciousness of El Cantare has descended to Earth as Master Ryuho Okawa, and is giving teachings to unite various religions and to integrate various fields of study to guide all humankind to true happiness."
The burden of a human being who recognizes oneself to be guided by the All-Knowing Message Giver to be a 'Message bringer' during a time of oppressive metaphysical ignorance in the world is enough of a stressful responsibility to bear for anyone without the additional pressure of thinking oneself as being the lone person alive to have this purpose.
