Bits and Pieces.....

My fine booklet from the hands of Jan......in use!
Somehow in that time around and in between holidays, my studio time gets reduced further than normal, which of late, has not been much to begin with.
I grab a few minutes in the morning when my brain is still adjusting to being awake, then during the day when I'm running through here looking for something else. It is not an organized way to work, but it is pretty much what I have adjusted to. (I don't recommend it though, unless it's all the time you can grab....)
For my birthday, my friend Jan sent me a lovely hand made booklet, which she suggested I throw in my purse to use for notes......um, NO!
Far too nice and I loved the paper. It was just the right size for doing sketches that did not require a lot of commitment, which seems to be the trick for getting back into studio-mode.

Close up of the above....

I did not feel obligated to totally fill pages or produce something that would be considered a *finished piece*. I used pens given to me by my friend Vicki, and that was great as our color choices are totally different, so I was actually playing with unfamiliar color families! (sharing with friends that work in different media/colors is a great way to stretch creatively. I've heard it before but this time actually put the advice to USE....)

Loose work, just recording the moment....
It is a type of fun I have not allowed myself in a while. Seems when I go to work, I think a piece of "ART" must be produced, not "little art" which is vital in it's own ways. (I also discovered how many of my own pens had dried up during my personal *dry spell in studio*.....yikes)

Summer and Winter....
Playing....with a Pin Oak leaf that had blown into the garage. They are so full of Color in late Summer, then go completely insanely RED in the Fall. Catching them at that moment of change is always fun.
The Winter leaves are much like polished leather. Pens and Prisma Colors in hand, I did the half & half. A tiny stamp, some permanent markers.....a little too much work but much enjoyment.
And all this confined to a tiny table that was actually CLEAN before I started.
Well, nothing stays that way for long here.

Yes, the Bunnies are helping....lol! Covered with JUNK....

This is the small area I allowed for the work. I have my back to the other enticing projects in various stages of completion/non-completion in the studio. I don't see them and get distracted.
All is good.
Have spent time down in the wet studio too~~glorious!
Still not back to anything close to a routine, but it's coming.
Slowly.
And I can live with that.
How about YOU? Has the New Year put you back to work, enjoying stolen moments of bliss?
Hope so! ;-)
