It appears that there have been some changes on Instagram’s website which enabled a feature which users of iPads and desktop can upload photos.

It is very easy to do using Chrome.  Here is a quick how-to upload photo to Instagram from your computer using Chrome:

Hopefully, this is signs that Instagram will soon be making larger updates to allow users to publish to Instagram direction from your desktop.  While the update seems great there some limitations: live video, stories and the ability to apply filters.

Instagram is not yet making a big hype about this “Instagram isn’t fully embracing the idea of uploading from the desktop just yet, as it’s only the mobile version of the website which currently supports image uploading.”

Spotted by Matt Navarra, TechChrunch asked Instagram about the new Mobile web features. The company tells TechCrunch, “Instagram.com (accessed from mobile) is a web experience optimized for mobile phones. It’s designed to help people have a fuller experience on Instagram no matter what device or network they are on.”

There are also other methods uploading photos to Instagram using: Grum, Schedugram, Instagress, and Hootsuite where it sends you a push notification to publish.
