Africa’s 2018 Epica winners — view all the work

by MarkLives (@marklives) South Africa has taken home a total of five awards at this year’s Epica Awards, the advertising awards show judged by industry journalists across the globe. Egypt has bagged three and Kenya six.

FoxP2 brought home the only Gold for its Life Beyond the Logo campaign for National Geographic Kids magazine, while TBWA\Hunt Lascaris’ Breaking Ballet campaign for Joburg Ballet won a Bronze and two Silvers. M&C Saatchi Abel won Bronze for its #rightmyname campaign for Nando’s.

Egypt’s FP7/CAI won three Bronzes for its campaign for Orange. Kenya took home six Bronzes, three for Mandevu Beard Care and another three for Hotpoint Appliances.

Seven South African entries, three Egyptian, two Kenyan and Nigerian, and one Namibian had made the shortlist for this year’s Epica, out of 4020 entries from 69 countries. South African Jury Members were not allowed to vote on South African award entries. MarkLives was one of the South African jury members.
