If you live in Canada and are an avid Instagram user you’ve probably noticed a major change recently. When posting a picture or video to your account the total number of likes is no longer being counted.
This experiment is being done in order to “discourage competition” among its millions of users. Instead, Instagram hopes the move will prompt more people to post for quality and enjoyment first.
As of now, the change has only been made in Canada. No other countries have currently been affected although there are plans to expand throughout North America shortly.
How this will affect Instagram users on a personal and business level will be very interesting. Many Canadians are in favour of the move while others predict overall activity could plummet.
