Star Wars Battlefront Review

Star Wars Battlefront Review

“WHY!?!?”

There were huge hopes for Star Wars Battlefront, given the release of The Force Awakens and the success of the previous Battlefront games. There was a lot that EA and Dice had to live up to. In some ways, they delivered big time on all the hype, providing a beautiful masterpiece of a video game. But unfortunately it came at the cost of many other features that fans were expecting to be in a Star Wars Battlefront game. I took a deeper look at this game and came up with my own conclusions on how good it really is. I hope you enjoy my Star Wars Battlefront Review!

So first things first. Star Wars Battlefront looks amazing. The things they were able to accomplish using the Physical Based Rendering technology is nothing short of spectacular. They managed to capture all the iconic sights and sounds of the Star Wars universe and put them into the game seamlessly. One of the best graphics in a game that I have ever played.

The unfortunate downside to the incredible graphics is that the development time didn’t go to other areas of the game. The one area that needed it the most is the offline modes. It seems weird to say that a full AAA release title having to work on it’s offline modes, but in Star Wars Battlefront, they are a complete joke. It almost seems like a waste of time to even include the modes in the state they were in. I’ll let my review speak for itself, but man, was it a disappointment.

Star Wars Battlefront is build to be played online. The bulk of this game is in the online modes, and many features are only accessible online. Of the nine online game modes, most are pretty basic and two are done quite well. The walker assault and supremacy modes bring a level of depth that the others just cant quite match. Most rounds require some level of strategy and coordination to win and games are usually competitive. The other seven game modes are surprisingly similar to Call Of Duty. Running around shooting anything that moves with no concern for anything is usually the way to go in these modes.

Overall Star Wars Battlefront is a pretty average game. Some really good, some pretty bad, and a lot of mediocrity. I would say pass on this one, maybe Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be better.
