Hi-Rez Studios announced that the mythology-themed action game Smite is now officially in Open Beta for PlayStation 4.  The launch of the popular third person action MOBA on PlayStation 4 coincides with the SMITE’s 2nd anniversary and to celebrate, Hi-Rez has a series of promotions lined up, with a new event each day through March 28th.

The closed Beta on the PlayStation 4 exceeded expectations as players rushed to experience the Battleground of the Gods for the first time. With the launch into open beta, SMITE is now available for anyone to download and play for free - no PlayStation Plus subscription is required.

SMITE has over 14 million players worldwide and the second anniversary of the game highlights the enduring popularity of the game across all platforms (PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4). To celebrate, Hi-Rez will feature a host of special promotions from Tuesday 22nd of March until Monday 28th of March. During this time, the Ultimate God Pack, which gives players all current and future gods on PC and Xbox One, will be 50% off on each platform for the first time in SMITE history. The Founder’s Pack for the PS4 will also see a 50% discount.
