Riotoro Debuts New Chassis for Compact Builds

Finding the right Chassis for your computer build is a crucial consideration. You want the right amount of space for your hardware, but you also want a design that will look good and not be outdated within a few months.

Riotoro has a new option just for you – the new CR1080 PC chassis is designed for super small builds, but offers enough space for a full-size Atx Motherboard.

A Closer Look at the New Riotoro Case

There’s actually a lot to love about the new compact Riotoro Case, particularly if you’re interested in building small, but don’t want to sacrifice motherboard size. The frame is made from steel and feature plastic side panels to reduce weight.

It’s also an inverted design. There’s a side window built into the right panel, as well.

Inside the chassis, you’ll find two compartments. One holds the motherboard and the associated hardware.

This is very visible through the window, so using LEDs and other aesthetic upgrades can offer a pretty big impact. The second compartment is where the PSU is installed, and most of the storage sits.

Each compartment offers its own cable routing and management system, and there are special mounting points for all hardware that are supposed to keep your equipment the focus, rather than the mass of snaking cables.

For storage, you can fit two 3.5 inch or 2.5-inch drives. There’s also a single 2.5-inch bay available. It does include a 5.25 optical bay as well, which seems like something of an odd tradeoff in a day when more and more companies are omitting opticals.

In terms of cooling, there are two front and bottom fans (120 mm), and an 80 mm fan mount in the storage compartment, but the manufacturer only offers support for a single radiator, so water cooling fans might have a harder time here. With that being said, an additional radiator would fit as long as you didn’t use a full-size GPU.

Graphics cards can measure up to 300 mm in length, and PSUs can be up to 240 mm long, even with a full ATX motherboard. There are seven expansion slots on offer as well, as well as a dedicated inlet port for air to cool the GPU.

On the front, you’ll find two USB 3.0 ports, as well as the standard mic and headphone jacks, and the power button.

If this sounds like the perfect case for your build, it’s available now. It’ll set you back somewhere around $80 or so.
