Divinity: Original Sin 2 studio says they’re working on something new

The Studio that created Divinity: Original Sin 2 isn’t going to rest on any of the many laurels they’ve amassed after making one of the best RPGs to ever grace the PC. Now that the Definitive Edition is done, Larian says it’s going to work on “new stuff.” In an interview with PC Gamer, Larian founder Sven Vincke says Larian’s aim now is to “make new stuff.” While Divinity: Original Sin 2 has only just been out for a year, Vincke says the studio’s commitment to the game has lasted much longer. “We’ve already put a lot of effort into improving what’s there,” he told PC Gamer. “People forget that these are three-year endeavors for us.” Vincke said the studio has put in a lot of effort into supporting the game post-launch, so it makes sense that the team is ready to move on to other projects. And in terms of the time investment required to make games, he was stark. “When you think about your lifecycle, you start counting how many [games] you can make,” he said. “It’s not that many. That’s why we need to move on and make new stuff.”
