Though it’s been nothing quite so extreme as eastern European wilderness, I’ve spent a lot of time driving on awful dirt roads and spinning tyres through flooded mud. Let me tell you, there’s no more appropriate day for the release of Spintires: Mudrunner than October 31, because navigating that stuff is some true horror.

If you like to drive without mud in the treads, these are the best racing games on PC.

Mudrunner is an expanded edition of Spintires featuring the original game’s content plus new maps, new vehicles, a challenge mode, and a total graphical overhaul. All that, plus improved physics and a new day-night cycle.

The trailer above is something else, featuring a more dramatic narrator than you’d expect from the grittiest action film of the summer. I’d make fun of it here, but offroading is no joke and I feel immensely uncomfortable just looking at the footage.
