How Should Tomorrow’s Casino Floor Be in the US?

If you have no idea what the casinos of yesterday looked like, just visit one Casino near you. What you will experience on the casino floor is exactly what gamblers in the 1970s experienced. They have the cards tables and slot machines.

The slot machines have undergone major changes to include bright graphics, amazing sounds, and a lot of newer games. However, they are the same machines of chance when it comes to winning.

The discussions in Atlantic City, New Jersey

New Jersey hosted a conference recently. The East Coast Gaming Congress converged in Atlantic City and brought together stakeholders in the casino industry. One of the main themes discussed was what the floor of the future casino should look like.

New Jersey was among the first states to legalize sports betting after the major Supreme Court ruling. The NJ online casino sites provide one of the widest choices of online betting games. The state recorded an increase in overall gaming revenue of 20% in April to $422.5 million.

Attracting the youthful gamblers

There have been great challenges for casinos as they try to attract youthful gamblers. The younger generation abhors the traditional casino designs relating them to the older generation. They prefer to see something more vibrant and entertaining in land-based casinos.

Since they cannot get what they desire, they prefer to place bets online. Currently, it’s the older generation who is bringing business to land-based casinos. However, they cannot remain customers forever.

Sooner they will grow older and unable to make their traditional journeys to land-based casinos. The younger generation will be crucial in bringing business to the casinos of tomorrow.

Discussions from the NJ conference

At the ECGC conference in NJ, different stakeholders made varying suggestions about what the future casino floor should look like. They were keen to note that the young generation so far has no issues adhering to the online gambling regulations set by the state governments. Their main issue is the current state of the casino floor.

One of the stakeholders was Rick Meitzler of Novomatic Americas. He noted that young people focus on doing things. They love to get busy on their phone. In about 15 years, those who are 25 years today will be forty, and they will be an important audience in land-based casinos.

Robert Heller of Spectrum GAMING Capital said his company envisioned esports as the next big thing in the casino industry. Views from many attendees resonated with one thing: that the world is in an electronic age and investing in electronics on the casino floor is the future.

This is what will attract the young generation onto casino floors. They noted some gamers might prefer to play alone other than interact with a dealer and many players on tables. Regardless, time will eventually speak, and stakeholders cannot wait to see the new casino floor of the future.
