I used to play Clash Royale very frequently, but I will say with the introduction of Trade Tokens, it turned me right off. I have two friends who also completely stop playing Clash Royale since the introduction of Trade Tokens. One stopped sooner than the other. For me, I'm still holding on.

All of the other updates are fine. Even the latest one introducing a new Arena called the Spooky Town which sits at 3600 Trophies. Legendary Arena being moved up to 4000 Trophies. New cards are fine, new game modes, any other improvements are a welcome change. It's refreshing to see the changes occur once a month as you get a full solid month of playing it before the next cycle.

The one change that still bugs me that leaves me to play not as often, is the Trade Tokens. Technically it's not even needed, and you don't have to Trade at all, but my issue is that when you win in Challenges or even Tournaments, you're rewarded with the Trade Tokens. If you think back before, when there were no Trade Tokens, to begin with, those prizes would have been something else to fill those spots. Now the spots are filled with Tokens and that bothers me.

Thinking of the Global Tournament, let's say four of the rewards consists of a Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary Token. That's four prizes that could have been something else, like a chest, or guaranteed cards, or more especially coins. Going with the mindset of you don't need to Trade at all, then winning these tokens offers no real incentive to play those challenges since they won't be used anyway. Cards are great and all, and with the Tokens, I actually have two different cards, waiting to be upgraded to Level 13. The big issue is the lack of coins. Trade Tokens doesn't provide coins. So although it's all nice and dandy to get your cards sooner, it doesn't help because there are fewer coins coming your way now. That has bugged me for a while now and I don't play as much as I used to.

Let's see how it goes for the next few months. I'd hate to delete the app as my friends did after spending so much time, and having so much fun with it, but at the same time, it's becoming less fun.

I'm currently sitting at 4424 Trophies. King Level 12, 44077/80000 XP. So I'm getting there to King Level 13. I have 4 cards maxed out, and 2 waiting to be maxed out. Others are Level 11/12 that I want to max out, but that's about it.
