The holiday season is upon us and that means its time to wrap those gifts up. As joyous a time that this can be, it can also be incredibly stressful for those of us who are still struggling to find the perfect Gift for friends and family. Thankfully, Sega is looking out for anyone still on the fence about what to buy. Whether you’re seeking out that last minute Christmas gift or trying to get an early start on next year’s shopping plans, Sega offers a variety of options for people of all ages. Here’s a guide to help anyone looking to add some Sega branded spice to the holiday season.

NKOK Team Sonic Racing 2.4Ghz Remote Controlled Car with Turbo Boost – Shadow The Hedgehog

One of the most classic toys money can buy would be a remote-controlled car. Toy developer NKOK is no stranger to creating a number of different RC toys, especially when it comes to Sega’s own Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. NKOK has already made toys based the Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing titles and even the lesser-known Sonic Riders games.

Their latest RC car release has managed to hit digital shelves just in time for Christmas and is based on Shadow the hedgehog and his new car, seen in the upcoming Team Sonic Racing. With 2.4Gh full function radio control and added turbo boost, the new Team Sonic Racing Shadow the Hedgehog is a great gift for children and collectors of Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise.

Sonic Mania Plus

Fans of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog titles have likely already played Sonic Mania to death. Sonic’s return to his traditional 2D roots reached critical acclaim, reminding many of us why we became fans of the hedgehog in the first place.

The physical version of Sonic Mania Plus compiles the base game and its Encore mode DLC onto one disc. Along with the physical version’s reversible cover, this gift is a great pick for classic Sonic fans. Sonic Mania Plus also serves as a great entry point for players as well. With a total of five playable characters with unique mechanics, potential fans are bound to have a blast with one of Sonic’s best adventures yet.

Sega Genesis Classics

If you’re looking for a more traditional retro experience, the Sega Genesis Classics collection is likely to be exactly what you’re looking for. Available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch, Sega Genesis Classics offers over fifty of the retro console’s greatest hits. The collections a great variety of different titles, ranging from RPG’s like Phantasy Star to beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. The collection also offers a number of convenient features, such as save states and customizable controls. What might make this collection most worth giving as a gift during the holidays is that it allows for online multiplayer, allowing you and a friend to relive these classics together.

Sega Christmas Ornaments

Many consider the visual aesthetic of Christmas to be an important part of the holiday season. Thankfully, Sega’s got you covered in case you’re hoping to add a little video game fair to your holiday decorations. Bring hints of nostalgia into your home with holiday ornaments of Sega’s past consoles or celebrate with Christmas themed Sonic the Hedgehog ornaments based on his classic or modern design. Hopefully, Sega will continue to add more of their iconic IPs to the group of home decorations.

Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection

We should count ourselves lucky that not one, but TWO rhythm-based titles related to Atlus’ acclaimed Persona franchise released in time for the holidays this year. Following up on the success of Persona 4: Dancing All Night are Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight for the PlayStation 4, based on the third and fifth entries in the Persona series respectively. Fans of either cast will be able to enjoy their beloved characters in completely original stories, voiced in both English and Japanese. The true gift is receiving the blessing of two fully remixed Persona soundtracks, created by a number of renowned Japanese composers. Each song could be considered a gift by itself.

Shenmue 1 and 2

The long-awaited third entry in the Shenmue series is out next year, and what better way to prepare than to revisit the first two titles. Shenmue 1 & 2 is an HD remaster of the first two games, available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It features an updated user interface, controls, and different screen resolutions. The biggest difference between this remastered compilation and the original releases are the inclusion of the games’ original Japanese dubs. Shenmue 1 & 2 makes for a great gift for anyone looking to follow the story of Shenmue 3 when it launches next summer.

Yakuza Kiwami 2

While the chance to explore Hong Kong makes for a great gift, so does exploring the fictional city of Kamurocho. Released earlier this summer exclusively for the PlayStation 4, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the most recent release in the Yakuza franchise. Following Yakuza Kiwami, Kiwami 2 is a complete remake of Yakuza 2, built from the ground up with Yakuza 6’s Dragon engine. If the game’s beautiful environment and fast-paced gameplay aren’t enough to hold you, the game’s gripping story likely will. It’s also worth noting that much like Die Hard, it could be argued that Yakuza Kiwami 2’s storyline is a Christmas story, making it an even more suitable gift for the holidays.

Valkyria Chronicles 4

Valkyria Chronicles may not exactly fit the theme of the holiday season, but it can certainly serve as a pleasant gift for a fan of JRPGs. Released earlier this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the fourth mainline entry in Valkyria Chronicles series. It’s been a long time since we in the west have seen a Valkyria Chronicles mainline title, but it has been worth the wait. The game features the return of the series’ action/RPG hybrid along with its signature hand-drawn art style. Blending these elements together with a top-notch story, Valkyria Chronicles 4 stands to not only be a perfect gift, but also as a contender for one of the top JRPGs of this year.

We hope this list helped any last-minute shoppers who are panicking out there. If you’ve got any suggestions of Sega themed gift ideas, let us know in the comment section down below!
