Last Week Recap

Last week I finally got to start my co-op with DVNC and I could not be more excited! Now, as it was my first week, the majority of my time was spent on handling onboarding items and making sure I had all the programs and accounts I would be working in for the next 6 months downloaded and set up. Once that was done, and after a few more meetings explaining Unity and the plugins used to make sure everything runs smoothly, I was set free to start my playthrough of Monochrome and gather feedback on my experience with the game!

So far, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the game as I’ve explored the world and got to know Otto more. The interactions they have with the other characters like Gackle are incredibly amusing and entertaining. Furthermore, their conversations feel realistic and I find myself entranced with watching Otto come out of their shell and start standing up for themself more. I still have a way to go in the game, but so far, I Love what I’m seeing, and I can’t wait to find out more about Otto as I  follow them on their journey!

Upcoming Work

Due to me still being relatively new to all the systems and programs used to create Monochrome, I’ll likely be spending the upcoming week working on figuring out how to use Unity to its fullest extent. Once I feel more comfortable with the program, I imagine I will be tasked with going through and fixing minor Clipping Issues that I noticed during my original playthrough of Monochrome. However, again as I am still figuring everything out, there’s no way to say for sure what I’ll be doing after that or if fixing clipping issues will even be my first task.

Unfortunately, I am a rather big Star Wars fan, and I love the character of Ahsoka very much, so seeing her transition to live-action with her own show is something I’m very excited about. However, when I first saw this trailer, I wasn’t as pumped as I had hoped I would be. I mean, I love Ahsoka, and I love the Rebels tv series even more, but for some reason, the trailer left me with mixed feelings. The effects just felt incomplete and the trailer’s editing left me feeling off about the show as a whole.

However, this is not to say I wasn’t hyped for the show – on the contrary, actually. I am positively buzzing with excitement to see the live-action Rebels cast and I’m so happy they transitioned the original voice actor for Thrawn to live-action – I hope the show will transition even more characters to live-action, like possibly Captain Rex. Overall, the show has many positives – it’s just that I feel like the trailer didn’t demonstrate that as well with its subpar CGI. However, I am no expert, and despite the show’s flaws, I will still be tuning in come August as I am still a nerd that loves Star Wars and its characters.
