In Stardew Valley, Leah is a villager living alone in a small cabin outside Pelican Town. She is a friend of Elliot.

How and where to find Leah in Stardew Valley

Her home address is listed as Leah’s cottage, in Cindersap forest. It is to the south of Marnie’s ranch. Getting there is not a problem, but how to kickstart your quest to befriending/marrying her is the real jaggernaut. First, you must figure out what does Leah love?

Likes

Knowing what she likes will help you get the best gifts to give Leah in Stardew Valley. The gifts will lower or raise her friendship with you. Now, you can give her a maximum of two gifts per week, and an extra one on her birthday (Winter 23). The birthday gift has an 8X effect, and to know if she likes or hates the gift, you will get the following responses.

Liked gifts

“You remembered my birthday! Thank you, this is great!”

“A birthday gift? That’s very kind of you! I love it.”

Neutral gifts

“Oh, a birthday gift! Thank you.”

Disliked gifts

“Oh… It’s for my birthday? … Thanks.”

The gifts

The gifts Leah loves are goat cheese, poppyseed muffin, salad, stir fry, truffle, vegetable medley, and wine. Get her any of these and she will say, “Oh! This is exactly what I wanted! Thank you!”

Liked gifts include chanterelle, blackberry, hot pepper, cauliflower, chocolate cake, crocus, hops, wild honey, spring onion, milk, melon, pale ale, egg, earh crystal, fried mushrooms, salmonberry, horseradish, vegetables, tulip, jelly, dandelion, daffodil, leek, sweet pea, mayonnaise, morel, driftwood, hazelnut, snow yam, and winter root. Her response to any of these gifts will be, “This is a really nice gift! Thank you!”

Neutral gifts only get a “Thank you.” They comprise of clam, duck feather, rainbow shell, squid ink, wool, tea leaves, wheat, nautilus shell, and sweet gem berry.

The disliked gifts are red snapper, topaz, sunfish, seaweed, stone, pizza, poppy, pink cake, oysters, ice cream, hardwood, cookies, clay, cherry bomb, bream, acorn. Avoid them if you don’t want Leah to respond with “Hmm… I guess everyone has different tastes.”

Lastly, are the hated gifts. Pizza, void egg, pancakes, hashbrowns, bread, bat-wing, snail, iron ore, and green algae. To these gifts she will respond with, “This is a pretty terrible gift, isn’t it?”

Heart Events

The journey to befriend/marry Leah is made up of several heart events which are activated when you are in certain spots and have a specific amount of hearts.

One heart

One heart triggers an event where you get to interact with Leah inside or out front of the general store. She will want to know why you became a farmer.

It’ll be great if you knew where Leah’s schedule. Ask yourself where does Leah hang out in Stardew Valley?

Two hearts

You will be able to enter her house and start a cutscene. Leah will be working on a sculpture, and she will say, “once you get past the outer layers, the true nature starts to show…” to which you will be given three optional responses. Avoid the one that says, “(creepy) May I have a kiss?”. It will cost you huge friendship points.

She will then talk about the hardship of paying bills as an artist. Give her suggestions on owning an art show in town or selling her artwork on the internet.

Four hearts

You will walk in on her arguing with her ex on the phone. At the end of the call she will tell you about herself and ask if her move to get out of the city to be an artist was selfish.

Here you should respond with, “No, it had to be done.” or “No, and your ex sounds like an idiot.” Avoid the other three options.

Six hearts

To trigger this event, you must to go your farmyard. Leah will come and gift you a sculpture she has been working on, called “How I feel about ”

The next part happens to the south of your farm. Leah will walk there in any season except winter. This is well outlined in Stardew Valley Leah schedule. She will try to reach for a fruit in a tree without any success. You will then put her on your shoulders so that she can reach the fruit.

Leah will be grateful and state that if her art fails, she knows you will be there to catch her.

Eight hearts

This event will depend on how you responded to the two hearts event.

If you suggested an art show, Leah will come and invite you for her show between 3 pm ad 5 pm (on any day). While giving her speech at the event, Leah will thank you for giving her the idea and courage to go through with it. Events in this scene can’t happen in winter.

If you suggested selling her art online then you will walk into her cottage at 10AM and find her setting up her online art shop. She manages to sell a lot of her work.

At this point, buy Leah a banquet and she becomes your girlfriend.

Ten Hearts

This event is triggered at 11 AM when you walk to the south of your farm. Leah will invite you for a picnic as an appreciation for giving her great idea(s) about what to do with her art. She will offer a kiss.

Her ex, Kel will come out of the bushes. An argument starts and Kel says he had come to take Leah back to the city. That is after confirming that he was at the art show or had bought most of the artwork online (depends on the event you had gone with).

You can opt to punch Kel in the face or reason with him. If you don’t Leah punches him and takes you to a more private place.

Marriage

Once you have attained your 10 hearts, you only need mermaid pendant to give Leah while proposing before marrying her. To get the pendant, go to the beach, repair the bridge on the right/east side.

Cross the bridge and you will find a man who will sell you the pendant for 5000G. The wedding will happen in 3 days once you give Leah the pendant.
