It came as no surprise when Red Dead Redemption 2 included cheats in-game. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheat Codes are phrases and words found in the game world, unlike Rockstar’s popular GTA 5 title which had button sequences as cheats. They activate cool things in-game such as gold, infinite Ammo, stealth weapons and spawn horses. However, the place to enter Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats are rather hidden and most users probably don’t know they are there.
How to input cheat codes in Red Dead Redemption 2
To enter cheat codes in Red Dead Redemption 2, simply pause the game and navigate to Settings. Press Triangle if you’re on PS4 or Y if on Xbox as prompted at the bottom right corner. You will enter the Cheats menu where you’ll find a long list of locked codes.
Entering cheat codes will unlock the cheats and any cheat codes that have been unlocked will be available to toggle on and off as you choose, meaning that you only need to enter each cheat once and have access to it whenever.
Activating a cheat code, however, will result in a warning message, telling you that activating a cheat means you cannot save your single player progress, nor collect Trophies and Achievements. This means that anything you do while the cheat code is active will not count. It is purely meant to goof around and won’t further any progress in-game.

Some cheat codes in Red Dead Redemption 2 have prerequisites and hence might not work when you enter them. You will need to complete whatever requirements they need before activating them, though these requirements usually involve buying newspapers.
