    Best Games Like Overwatch:

We’ve gone through the first-person shooters that also have MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas) and picked out our personal favorites as well as games that offer something a little different.

We’ve made a list of 5, and it wasn’t easy, we could have easily made a list of 10, and everyone would have been a “must play” game, such is the quality of games right now. So, enjoy the list. If there’s something you don’t agree with or you have a question, please drop a comment below, we’d Love to hear what you think!

Paladins – Champions Of The Realm

  • We think you’ll love this game because it has a lot of similarities to Overwatch in terms of Gameplay. You get a great first-player shooter, with MOBA functionality. Paladin is set in a sci-fi fantasy world made up of great characters.

What players love about this game is how you can customize the characters with the utilization of a card feature. It can be a little tricky to get the hang of if you’re new to this type of gaming but once you have, it adds another dimension to a great game.

Another difference that you’ll love or hate, depending on what floats your boat (your preference) is that Paladins is more about strategy than running and shooting. The maps are larger and the game is generally slower than Overwatch. We think it’s these differences that make it so popular because nobody wants to play the same game over and over.

    Gigantic

  • Gigantic is an aptly named game that offers something very similar to Overwatch. If you haven’t played it yet, you’re missing out on a cracker. Just like Overwatch, it ’s a crossbreed of first-person shooter and multiplayer online battle arena.

Well, the truth is, it’s not actually a first-person shooter, it’s a third-person shooter but with those first-person crosshairs that we love. It’s also a fast-paced as first-person shoot em ups need to be.

If you happen to love MOBO type games, this offers a little more emphasis on that side of the game, for example, your characters can “level up”. So if you want a game that offers a different feel, with cartoon styled graphics, and that offers a little more focus on the MOBO than the shooter em up, this is going to be your cup of tea.

  • 3.

    Team Fortress 2

  • A lot of gamers love this game because it really reminds them of Overwatch. In fact, some of the characters seem to be a crossover too, so you’ll quickly get the hang of the characters and what they’re able to offer. Characters fall into similar groups, with Team Fortress having Offense, Defense and Support characters for you to enjoy. So, plenty of overlap.

What makes this game different is the feel. The cartoon-like graphics makes the game lighthearted and fun, as does the humor that runs through the game. Ultimately, gamers love the fact that the characters have depth and add another dimension to the game, it’s more than just a run and shoot, first-player shooter.

Team Fortress has a lot of fans. It’s blends together the shooter and the MOBO really well and has a great feel to the game which is why it beat some serious competition to make our list.

    Battleborn

  • If you are looking for an FPS (first-person shooter) that works really well as a MOBO and a single player, then you’ll love Battleborn. The game describes itself as:

“A tremendous band of badass heroes fights to protect the universe’s very last star from a mysterious evil.”

Good vs Bad. A team of heroes. What’s not to love.

You get a massive roster of characters to choose from; each character has unique qualities and abilities, so they bring something different and requires you to play differently, which keeps the game fresh and offers a different experience every time.

    Gotham City: Impostors

  • You do not need to like Batman or any superheroes to love this game. In fact, they’re not in it. The idea of the game is Batman fans vs Joker fans, but all the characters are new. It’s just an excuse and a fun way to have 1 team fight against another in a cool world.

And it’s fun. It’s a bunch of characters v another bunch of characters, each with their own advantages and weaknesses and you have to outmaneuver the other team. They’ve focused on keeping the game simple, but not restrictive.

It’s fast-paced, offers, lots of tools and variations and it’s funny. They have a fat man running around dressed like Batman, what’s not to love?

In Summary

We love Overwatch and similar type games. What better way to blow off steam! But if you’re looking for something different, either to spice up your life or because there are some elements of the game that irritate you, there are some equally great games to play. We’ve picked out our favorites. Some with a focus on the shoot-em-up, others that offer more with MOBA.
