When Diablo II was really popular, I spent literally hundreds of hours on my Necromancer, commanding my army of Skeletons and my Golem, supporting them with deadly spells that cause corpses to explode. Therefore, I am seriously super excited to show you guys what Blizzard has revealed with their latest female necromancer showcase.
Isn’t she beautiful?
We’re also going to show you a new set of skills for the Necromancer that has never been shown before! This new skill set is related to blood, and focuses on tapping into the Necromancer’s life force to power her spells as well as absorbing the life force of others to sustain her.
Check out all the awesome new skills!
Grim Scythe: Swing a huge scythe in a wide arc, dealing damage and restoring Essence.
Blood Nova: Unleash a powerful nova dealing massive damage to surrounding enemies.
Devour: Consume corpses to instantly restore Essence to power your other skills.
Golem: Summon a powerful ally like the mighty Blood Golem, which can drain the blood from your enemies, dealing damage and restoring your health.
Blood Rush: Shed your mortal flesh and pass through solid objects to swiftly reach a new location.
Leech: Curse enemies so that attacking them transfers their life energy to you and your allies.
Previously, in Diablo II, you’ll either build the Necro as a battlefield commander with his army of skeletons, or he’ll be casting Bone Spear and Corpse Explosion repeatedly. The new skill set’s focus on drawing upon your own life force and using the enemy’s essence against them seems really dangerous, yet rewarding at the same time. I love it. It’s a cool new way to play the Necro that I’ve never experienced before and I can’t wait to try it out.
Rise of the Necromancer Pack
The Rise of the Necromancer pack will feature Set Items and Legendaries, specifically for the Necromancer. These will augment the Necromancer’s powers in interesting and powerful ways that will create entire play styles of their own. And, of course, these set items will have their corresponding Set Dungeons that will have you cursing and swearing as you experience what complete futility feels like.
Finally, we got word on what the entire pack will contain. Rise of the Necromancer will include the character, an in-game pet, cosmetic wings, two character slots, two stash tabs, a portrait frame, pennant, banner, and banner sigil. And yes, the stash tabs are given to players without the need for purchase with gold or via seasonal conquests!
See you all in Grift 80! Let us drink our enemies’ blood together.
