Cacorm – A new action game for the Commodore Plus/4

Tags: star trail cacorm

Cacorm is one of those games that surprises me in a good way. At a glance, it seems like “one more of those” types of games, but when you start playing it, you see how clever and enjoyable it is!

The gameplay is very simple. You control your hero around the screen and your objective is to retrieve the stars while dodging the monster that is after you. However, instead of walking over the stars to get them, you have to use the Trail you leave behind when you walk. The trail has different uses. For one, you need to “lace” (walk around closing a loop) the star to retrieve it. Another use of the trail is to block the monster’s path as much as possible so you have time to walk around freely. The secret is planning your path because when you close a loop, around the star or whenever the trail will disappear and it will start over, meaning that the monster will also have a free path toward you.

Developed by Inufuto, the 32Kb game is freely available at Plus/4 World. If you are playing on a real machine, you might like to know that the game supports PAL and NTSC automatically. Now, if you don’t have a real machine, it is always recommended to use the YAPE emulator for better results!
