Beauty Haul

I haven’t done a beauty haul in forever, the last one being my Body Shop review,  so I felt it was only right to get one done. I’ve noticed recently that my skin has been feeling and looking a bit dull, and I’ve been getting a few more spots than usually, so I decided it was time to splash out on some new beauty products, and write a review at the same time.

I’ll be honest, I do find it a bit overwhelming when it comes to finding vegan and cruelty free make up and beauty products. So it’s something I tend to put off buying until I absolutely have to. Why companies still test on animals is beyond me, and it would make life so much more easier if they didn’t. But unfortunately, they do, so I had to do my research before I headed to the shops to figure out what I wanted, and what products would be the best to buy. You’ll notice most of this is Sukin. The entire Sukin rage is vegan and cruelty free, so it meant I could go wild and get whatever I wanted without having to look at what was in it. The best! So without further ado, lets see what I got.

7th Heaven Deep Sea Peel-Off

I love Face masks. But it’s not something I do very often. I always seem to end up with the face masks that you put on and then wash up, and I just don’t find them very satisfying and never really feel like they’ve done that much for my skin. Recently my social media timeline has been awash with those charcoal peels that get very stuck to your face, and I knew this was my answer; I needed a peel off face mask.

This 7th Heaven one is amazing. It was reasonably cheap and left my skin feeling incredible afterwards. I felt like I had completely new skin. Recently when washing my face I could just feel it didn’t seem very fresh or clear, a bit clogged up. But since doing this, my skin just feels fantastic. I’m definitely going to buy some more and keep doing them regularly.

Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub

I already Frank Body for my face, which is so good, so I decided to also buy one for the rest of my body. The smell is delicious, a really rich coffee smell. Most importantly though, it leaves my skin feeling so soft. It’s a hard scrub, so probably not something I’d use every day, more like once a week, but you know it’s working. A word or warning though, it gets everywhere. You can definitely tell once I’ve used it because the shower ends up covered it bits of coffee scrub. It comes off with some water though, so no harm done!

Sukin Pore Refining Facial Scrub

I wash my face every night with a bit of soap to get rid of my makeup, and then I like to follow this with a face wash. As I mentioned, I’m not a fan of soft, creamy ones. I want something that I feel is working, so ideally, one that exfoliates as well. I want to feel that scrub! This Sukin one is good. It has something in it that gently exfoliates my skin, although I’d probably like it a bit harder as I find it a bit too gentle. As I wear make up all day, followed by the gym (yes, with my make up on. I know, I should really take it off), I want to make sure my skin is super fresh at the end of the night. Despite the fact it’s a bit gentle, it does do a good job and my skin does feel great afterwards.

Sukin Moisture Resorting Shampoo and Conditioner

Another product I struggle to buy. I’ll be honest, my favourite shampoo and conditioner is by L’Oreal. Of course, I no longer buy from them, but it always left my hair feeling super smooth and silky, and I’m yet to find a vegan version that is as good. This shampoo and conditioner is okay. The shampoo I find a bit odd, it doesn’t seem to lather up in the shower, so I have to try really hard to get it to cover my hair. The conditioner is nice though; I’ve found the longer I leave it in the better my hair feels. A couple of times after I’ve come out the shower my hair has felt a bit heavy and not as glossy as it could be, so I feel it’s a bit hit and miss. I like it, but I’ll probably try another shampoo and conditioner once these bottles are finished.

Sukin Hydrating Body Lotion

Okay, so this is really bad but I hate putting on moisturiser. Anything that I have to leave on my skin really. I like to feel clean, and moisturiser just doesn’t do it for me (the exception is my face, as I put on moisturiser before my make up). My legs are pretty dry most of the time, and it’s not the most attractive look, so I decided to purchase some body lotion and see what happens. And surprisingly, this one I really like! It doesn’t leave me feeling oily and gross and sinks into my skin, so then I no longer feel it. It smells good and a little goes a long way. I’d totally recommend this one and now my legs no longer look scaly and gross.

Sukin Rose Hip Oil

I had really bad acne when I was younger, like, really bad, and I’ve been left with a lot of scars. Because of this, I’m still prone to getting spots slightly more often than other lucky people my age, and they tend to leave red marks once they’re gone. As I’ve been getting quite a few spots on my chin of late, once they’re gone, I’m left with their red remnants, and my skin therefore is not looking as clear as it once did. I’ve heard a lot about Rose Hip Oil helping clear up these marks, so I decided to give it a go. I put on a couple of drops at night once I’ve done the rest of my skin care routine, and I really think it’s helping to clear up my skin. It’s definitely more clear, and I’m hoping after more regular use, those red marks will begin to fade as well.
