Script Editing “The Dumping Ground”

Well, as predicted, starting as Script editor in a show in pre-production has ramped my workload up by a colossal factor.

(It’s series three of the BBC childrens’ show ‘The Dumping Ground‘ if you missed last week’s newsletter.)

Last week I was in Newcastle for a day to look round the set, meet some of the cast, and generally chat things through with the Producer and executive producer. I then spent two days at the BBC offices in White City having story meetings with the writers of the first two blocks. This week I’ve been writing that up, organising research, and working on new character biogs and the initial episode pitches with the writers of the first seven episodes.

Busy, Busy, and it’s going to be like that for a good few months.

Which means my activities online are definitely going to contract for a while.

I’m still going to keep the newsletter going, and issuing fascinating, well-researched, and entertaining bulletins in a calm and sober way for the foreseeable future!
