And While We Were Here reminds me of so many European movies I watched as a film student many years ago, full of unspoken gloom, despair and furtive physical pairings. And like so many of those stories, Here takes the American viewer away to places we might never otherwise get to see. She really wanted to explore the subject of infidelity. Usually, it's a morality tale, where somebody has done somebody wrong.
