TDK Needs to Work on What Batman Begins Lefts Off

The lack of news killing me. But, rather than strangle myself with a rope, I think I should post my thoughts about The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight should be following what Batman Begins lefts off. Other than the main story, I think The Dark Knight should fix some technical and logical flaws left in Batman Begins.

While I think that Batman Begins is a very good Batman film of all time, at least until now, it lefts some flaws that disturbs me, especially considering Nolan's vision of "grounded reality". Grounded reality doesn't mean the fantastical aspect should be eliminated and everything has to be logically explained (the microwave emitter, for instance), but something that my eight years old niece can ask about, should be fixed.

The Batmobile for instance. In BB, the Tumbler is clearly seen on TV, and even Jim Gordon have drove it. Lucius surely didn't made the Tumbler with his own hands, and every Wayne employees who used to work on Applied Sciences department should be able to identify the Batmobile as one of Wayne Industries prototypes. They will quickly connect the Batman with Wayne, and maybe assumed that Batman is Bruce Wayne himself. Gordon should smell it too.

So in TDK, just let Gordon has a suspicion that Wayne is the Batman. If you have read Year One comic, you probably remembered the part when Gordon comes to Wayne Manor with his wife to investigate Bruce, only to find that Bruce is a drunken playboy with two women on his side. When his wife told Gordon that Bruce is a pig, Gordon wisely said that a man like Batman can disguise himselves in many ways. I think it would be nice to see it on screen. Gordon could do this on his own will, or as a command from Commissioner Loeb.

Alfred could be wearing the Batman's cape after all, just like what Michael Caine has suggested in previous news. Not as a decoy to catch criminals, but as a decoy to trick Gordon or a reporter that Batman and Bruce Wayne is a different person. And when Alfred finished his disguise and open the costume, he realizes that he's wearing it backward, just like in The Batman animated series. That would be sooo funny.

The other one is the Batmobile tracks to the Wayne Manor. My niece asked me, "Uncle, why's that the police cannot chase Batman to his home? They can easily follow the car's tracks. It's clearly shown there.."

Once again, this is a question from my eight years old niece, so I think Nolan should fix this flaw. But how?

Okay. Remember the Wayne Manor? It was burned down on the final scene. Now, I don't want to translate Bruce's words of "I'm going to build it up brick by brick" literally. A house like Wayne Manor cannot be build in one day, maybe four or six months can do. On that time, Batman should temporarily settled on Wayne Industries building.

That would be perfect. On Wayne Industries, Bruce can easily have access to the technologies and tools to create more Batman gadgets or even the Batcyle like what's previously rumored. Bruce also needs to discuss with Alfred how to cover possible tracks to the Batcave. That would be nice.

This is just from a Batman fan who just wants the best for TDK. I hope it will be a big blockbuster in 2008.
