Batman On Film has reported that a band called Saliva has been interviewed by a radio station from Seattle KISW 99.9 FM and mentioned that they're going to pitch some songs for TDK.
Saliva is a alternative metal/hard rock band, the type of band usually used to make songs for super hero movies. This news hasn't been confirmed. But If it's right, I hope the song won't be included somewhere in the middle of the movie. Just put them on the closing credits.
Meanwhile, an article posted in MercuryNews about Heath Ledger has mentioned a bit on what he thinks of his role as the Joker:
He will play the Joker in "The Dark Knight", Christopher Nolan's follow-up to "Batman Begins", which begins shooting in March.

The actor says that in spite of the box-office potential of "Knight", he's intrigued more by the role, which he describes as a "pure anarchist."
"I still feel like it's a character I've never done before,'' he says, "and I'm going to be donning a Mask. I'm not really thinking about the commercial consequences. Maybe I should be. But at this point, it's just an exciting next step.''
I kind of like it when he said that his role as the Joker is a "pure anarchist". But I hope his Joker will stay true to the comics and "the mask" means he's not actually wearing a mask, but he will act as nothing he ever done before.
