The highly anticipated Movie was released on July 23, 2016, Saturday in Japan and earned 1.15 B Yen. The number ticket sold is 400K plus tickets making it number 1 against its competitors on the opening weekend. Toei animation is projecting the movie to earn up to 6 Billion Yen to surpass its predecessor One Piece Film Z.

One Piece Film: Gold may top the opening weekend sales but its revenue is much lower than the last two movies: One Piece Film: Z and Strong World. But why???


May be some fans really wanted to know about the world of One Piece especially the history. What is common between One Piece Film: Z and Strong World?

One Piece Film: Z - introduces a former admiral which is Admiral Z. It tells the story of a marine soldier that had gone very revengeful. Also, the movie showed the relationship of Z to the other marines and what happened to former Admiral Aokiji after their fight with now Fleet Admiral Sakazuki.

Strong World - introduces a formidable pirate back in Roger's era. Shiki is a legendary man being the only pirate before the massive breakout to escape the great prison Impel Down. Shiki is a canon character! yes he is! that's what makes this film awesome.

Now let's talk about One Piece Film: Gold

Gild Tesoro - He is quite strong but lacks strory behind his character unlike Zephyr and Shiki.

CP-0 Aegis Appearance - Cipher Pol 0 is very mysterious though it has been revealed that Rob Lucci is part of it. Rob Lucci vs Sabo!!! yes it quite good for it tells about the World Government and Revolutionaries.

The non - canon part - if you watch the anime episodes after Dressrosa the Strawhats are split into two groups and in this film they are together. Even though this is a non - canon story the fans also like it to be a continuation of the series.



What's next after this movie???

I hope that in the Movie 14 the story will be about Moneky D. Garp or Monkey D, Dragon or anything about the Monkey family. Maybe Luffy's mom???
