We all have our own bets when it comes on the strongest individual characters that are still alive in One piece. This list is just based on the facts and fight results. Moreover, this list is a collective opinion of One Piece fanatics which make this list unofficial (not in order) .
Monkey D. Garp - he earned the title as a hero for the marines and Akuma (devil) from the pirates which attest to his strength. He is also a master of Haki as stated by Doctor Fishbonen in his conversation with Coby. He demonstrated his mastery of haki when he flatten the head of Don Chinjao whose bounty is 500,000,000 and he also manage to punch and hurt Marco the Phoenix despite Marco's regenerative phoenix form which other marines failed to do. Lastly, what makes him the strongest individual that is still alive is that he and the pirate king Gol D. Roger almost killed each other on numerous occasions.
Monkey D. Dragon - dubbed as the “most dangerous man" and "most wanted man” by the world government Dragon surely has the power and capability to turn the world upside down. Although there were no major fights shown but the confrontation between him and smoker in Lougue town to save Luffy already shows his power to intimidate enemies. He also carries the will of D and came from the legendary lineage of Monkeys.
Akainu ( Sakazuki ) - being the current fleet admiral of the marines he holds the power to keep the balance of the world. He showcased his power in the war of the best in marineford: first he showed the terror of his Devil Fruit and its superiority over other devil fruit as shown when he killed ace and left a scar on Luffy's chest. Second, his mastery of his devil fruit ( it is not known whether it is awakened just like Doflamingo) is shown when even haki users such as Marco and vista can’t even land a hit on him. Aside from his devil fruit ability and physical strength what made him a formidable marine is his ability to manipulate and deceive his enemies. After the war, he pursued Blackbeard but after van augur sighted Akainu Black Beard quickly fled stating that they cannot face Akainu right then even after acquiring Whitebeard’s power and dangerous powerful criminals from impel down. He also won against Kuzan (aokiji) in their fight to become the fleet admiral which lasted for ten days.
Kaido - Trafalgar D. Water Law said that Kaido is the strongest creature in the world. Kaido is also one of the four emperors that stood up against powerful pirates and marines. He beat Gecko Moria's first crew at some time ago and he is also feared by Donquixote Doflamingo which are both shichibukai ( Moria has been removed from the position ).
Shanks - Shank's experience to set sail in the harshest waters and clashing with powerful monsters have been proven by being one of the four emperors of the new world and by being part of the pirate king's crew. He is one of the most notable powerful figure in the one piece world being able to clash with whitebeard and stopping Kaido which both are also emperors of the new world and he is also the rival of the world's greatest swordsman Dracule Mihawk. His real strength in battle has not yet been shown but his ability to use haki is on a whole different level than a regular haki user especially when he demonstrate it on knocking down Whitebeards men by just his mere presence using haoshoku haki ( conqueror's haki ) and being able to stop Akainu's attack on Coby.
Charlotte Linlin ( Big Mom ) - there are only few information about big mom such as she is a sweets lover and a member of the Yonko. Big mom is feared by many because of her power which makes her territories in the new world safe from pirate attacks such as the Fishman Island. In addition, as a testament of her power it is said that she could destroy a whole island just because of sweets.
Dracule Mihawk ( Hawk Eyes ) - He holds the title as the Greatest Swordsman of the World. He has eyes of a Hawk ( which is his epithet ) where he can easily track objects even at high speed as shown when he launched a long range attack on Luffy while using gear second accurately. He is also the rival of Red Haired Shanks which implies of his great strength and power. He is also mentally tough being able to resist Boa Hancock's charm.
Silvers Rayleigh - he is the first mate of Gol D. Roger and he is also known as the Dark King. he has shown his power when he fought Admiral Kizaru on Sabaody Archipelago. In addition, he also taught Luffy all about Haki which is a proof of his mastery of it. When the marines knew about his whereabouts Garp said that the marines must not attack him because they are still dealing with whitebeard and they cannot deal with two legends at the same time which is a statement that even at his age he is still a formidable figure.
Sengoku the Buddha - the former fleet admiral Sengoku is respected by many not just by his power and position but also his intelligence as a great strategist and tactician as seen at the battle of marineford. He is also a user of a mythical zoan type devil fruit which is hito hito no mi, model: daibutsu. The said devil fruit gives him enormous boost in power to compliment his size when he transform into a giant golden Buddha. In addition, he was able to stop Garp in killing Akainu even without using his devil fruit which attest to his great physical strength.
Magellan - he was demoted to vice warden because of the mass break out happened two years ago. Magellan ate the doku-doku no mi ( vemon - vemon fruit ) a paramecia devil fruit that gives him the ability to produce and manipulate venom. During the Impel Down arc he manage to beat all the people that confronted him including the Blackbeard pirates, Luffy, Ivankov, and Inazuma.
Other powerful characters : Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Sanji, Admiral Sakazuki, Admiral Fujitora, Ben Beckman, Sabo, and Imporiov Ivankov.
