Sunday TV: NCIS: Los Angeles S.8 Premiere, Quantico S.2 Premiere, Motive S.4 Finale & More

Tonight, ABC has a Once Upon a Time: Evil Reigns Once More special, the sixth season premiere of Once Upon a Time and the second season premieres of Secrets & Lies and Quantico, CBS has the 49th season premiere of 60 Minutes and the eighth season premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles, FOX has the seventh season premiere of Bob’s Burgers, the 28th season premiere of The Simpsons, the time slot premiere of Son of Zorn, the 14th season premiere of Family Guy and the third season premiere of The Last Man on Earth, and PBS has the second season premiere of Poldark.

Over on cable, CNN has the eighth season premiere of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and the third season premiere of This Is Life With Lisa Ling, El Rey has The Director’s Chair: Frank Darabont and Jon Favreau special, Food Network has the 10th season finale of Guy’s Grocery Games, the seventh season finale of The Great Food Truck Race and the second season finale of Cooks vs. Cons, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries has the TV movie premiere of Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Lost Without You, HBO has the second season finale of Ballers, and Starz has the third season finales of Power and Survivor’s Remorse.

In late night, USA Network has the fourth season finale of Motive.

Next week, CBS has the third season premiere of Madam Secretary and the fifth season premiere of Elementary, HBO has the series premiere of Westworld, Showtime has the seventh season premiere of Shameless, and Starz has the second season premieres of Ash vs Evil Dead and Blunt Talk.

Prime Picks

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): Season Premiere. The team is under investigation by the Under Secretary of the Navy after the mole in their department is found. The team heads to Syria in search of a big get, but things go badly. Runs two hours.

Quantico (ABC): Season Premiere. Alex is now at the CIA’s training facility called “the Farm,” where she is taught more about espionage and gets pulled into another conspiracy that threatens people here in the States and more around the world.

Solid Selections

The Simpsons (FOX): Season Premiere. The Simpsons go to Mr. Burns for financial help to rebuild the town after it burns down. A variety show is put on at Springfield Bowl. Runs 30 minutes.

The Great Food Truck Race (Food Network): Season Finale. The remaining two teams head to Catalina Island for the final showdown. Plays again later.

The Strain (FX): New. Setrakian goes to Eldritch Palmer for help after new information comes from the Lumen. Eph’s experiments come close to driving him insane. Fet attempts to keep track of strigoi goings-on in the city. Runs 61 minutes. Plays twice and again later.

Other Options

  • Food Paradise International (Travel Channel): New. Enter a “Cheese Paradise.” Plays again later.
  • MacGyver (CBS): Repeat. This past Friday night’s series premiere episode, “The Rising,” replays. Listen to my spoiler-free preview.
  • Once Upon a Time (ABC): Season Premiere. The heroes attempt to stop Hyde and Emma seems to have developed a weird side effect. Refugees from the Land of Untold Stories come to Storybrooke. Regina and Zelena are now roommates.
  • Quarry (MoMAX): Repeat. This past Friday night’s episode, “A Mouthful of Splinters,” replays. Plays again later.

  • CBS has NFL action today.
  • ESPN has Sunday Night Baseball MLB action with the St. Louis Cardinals at the Chicago Cubs.

  • NBC has final round coverage of the Tour Championship PGA golf tournament today and later has Sunday Night Football NFL action with the Chicago Bears at the Dallas Cowboys.

Late Night

  • Motive (USA Network): Season Finale. The person who murdered Judge Natalie Rodman escapes and the whole team reunites to investigate. Runs 61 minutes. Plays again later.
