Summer Slimdown

The Summer is finally here and it's the time to hit the beach or lay out by the pool. Many of you have probably been working out, trying to get in shape for the summer. But if you're one of the many people who have been slacking off, or just haven't quite achieved the bikini beach body that you desire, here are a few tips you should consider:

1.Create a routine. Try to have fun activities planned throughout the week. Working out doesn't necessarily mean that you have to go to the gym. You just need to stay active. Things like Walking your dog, 30-minutes of yoga, or walking up the stairs all burn calories. The important thing is to move more.

2.Drink more water. It's important to drink a lot of water, especially in the summer months to prevent dehydration. Drinking more water will also stimulate your kidneys, which will help you burn more calories.

3.Have a support system. Having a buddy to exercise with will not only make it more fun, but you will be more likely to keep up with your workout program.

4.Try to cut fat out of your diet! Even though I know it's hard, stay away from fast food whenever possible. If you must make a trip to McDonald's, try a healthier choice such as a salad. It's also important to consider carbohydrates. If you canstantly feel hungry and tired, you probably need to cut down on your carb intake.

5.The last advice is a very obvious one, but some people just don't get it. You have to eat! Don't try to starve yourself! You still need to eat at least 3 times a day. It's best to eat 5 smaller meals a day. Starving yourself is only going to harm your body and cause serious health problems. So if your going to diet, diet the healthy way.
