Set to be the first in a sleuth of new Star Wars films not linked directly to the Episode format, ROGUE ONE: A Star Wars Story is set to feature one of cinemas biggest villains with Darth Vader set to return.

It makes sense due to the setting of the film with Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso being tasked with retrieving plans for the first Death Star. Darth Vader will, therefore, try to stop her at the behest of the Emperor. There’s no word on who will wear the suit but it’s extremely likely that James Earl Jones will be back for his famous breathing.

Gareth Edwards is directing with the film arriving December 16th. Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Jonathan Aris, Genevieve O’Reilly and Alan Tudyk round out the rest of the cast.
