This summer we’ll be seeing one of the most well-known and graphically frightening graphic novels come to life as Bruce Timm brings us an adaption of Batman’s ‘The Killing Joke’ graphic novel.

BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will see BATMAN, voiced by Kevin Conroy from the old BATMAN: ANIMATED SERIES of the 90’s, as well as Joker, voiced by the same series Mark Hamill, face off against each other, however things get difficult when Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, also gets involved.

The film is being rated R meaning we’ll be in for a treat on BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS level of brilliance that DC Animations previously released. Check out the first trailer below:

The original graphic novel was from Alan Moore and Brian Bolland and some of the dialogue is actually straight from that, so this is definitely going to be one of DC’s best animated films!
