AMC have managed to find gold when it comes to THE Walking Dead after Robert Kirkman’s hit graphic novel has also become a huge hit TV show, rivalling HBO’s GAME OF THRONES. The series has also managed a recent spin-off, which got a quick second season return and will see a third one coming as well.

FEAR THE Walking DEAD was different, it didn’t have the scare tactic THE WALKING DEAD portrayed for Rick Grimes back in the day, but the fear quickly snuck in as we witnessed the world fall apart. The second season recently kicked off straight after THE WALKING DEAD’s difficult sixth season finale featuring Negan’s final reveal.

AMC realising what a huge hit the franchise is has decided to quickly opt in for a third season for FEAR THE WALKING DEAD after one episode from season two. The third season is heading next year, possibly at the similar time the second season kicked off, with a again sixteen episodes.

Charlie Collier, AMC’s president had this to say:

“What Dave Erickson and Robert Kirkman have invented in Fear the Walking Dead is to be applauded. Watching Los Angeles crumble through the eyes of our characters and seeing each make decisions and try to figure out the rules of their new world – it’s fresh, eerie and compelling and we’re all in for the ride. As Victor Strand observed, ‘The only way to survive a mad world is to embrace the madness.’ We thank the millions of fans for embracing this mad world and look forward to sailing far into the future.”

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD focuses on a family during the collapse of America during the undead outbreak. As we dive into the second season the gang are heading as far away as they can from whats going on as they travel the ocean in a ship, but there’s of course a lot more going on in the ocean sunset.

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD airs Sundays on AMC.
