This Picture Explains Why The Millenium Falcon Looks Like The Way It Does.

I've always wondered why the Millenium Falcon looks like the way it does.  Why was the cockpit on the side and has a fork front?  This picture, which is doing the rounds today on Imgur and Reddit explains it.  It's a freight pusher.  Those freights are the most common ones used in the Star Wars universe.  Now I know why the Falcon had so little cargo space.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure if this is canon but it does explain a lot.  Can anyone verify this?

Here's an Imperial Cargo Ship doing the same transportation.
