SONY’S GHOSTBUSTERS TO BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE IN IMAX® 3D THEATRES
Tentpole Slated for Global Roll-Out in IMAX the Weekend of July 15
IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) and Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Sony Pictures’ highly anticipated summer tentpoleGhostbusters, from director Paul Feig, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released into IMAX® theatres domestically on July 15, with select international territories set to begin the day prior.
The new film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, from a screenplay written by Feig & Kate Dippold, based on the filmGhostbusters, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman. Reitman and Amy Pascal produced.

The IMAX® 3D release of Ghostbusters will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
