Why not theme your True Blood Party after what HBO has in store for us for Season 7? The Hep V Infected Vampires are wreaking havoc on the good people of Bon Temps, the government has abandoned them, people are turning against each other and acting like animals....truly an apocalypse to survive.
You can board your windows up to look like you are trying to keep the Infected vampires and crazy people out of your house. You won't believe how easy this is to do and will keep your guests safe!
FAUX BOARDED UP WINDOWS
Supplies:
- A large cardboard box (make sure that it's wide enough to cover your windows)
- A sharpie
- Packing tape (or any strong tape)
How to make:
1. Cut your box up into long strips. The easiest way to do this is to just cut off the longer flaps and sides of the box and use those. 2. Take your sharpie and draw a wood-like pattern on the pieces of cardboard. Don't worry about making it look perfect, it just has to look similar. 3. Place some strong tape on the back of your "wood boards" and stick them on your windows. Make sure to kind of alternate how they're angled so that it really looks like you quickly and haphazardly boarded up your windows. And there you go! Infected vampire/crazy people proof windows. Well...they look like they are anyways!
As your guests arrive to your party have them greeted with a message of despair. With sidewalk chalk you can write out the message to FEMA like the one above in your drive way or on your sidewalk leading up to your house.
Using Photoshop, Word or other design program you can create local newspapers filled with stories of the state of emergency Bon Temps is in. You can place these around in different locations for your guests to pick up and read about the apocalyptic world you have created for them.
If you choose, you can decorate your house to look like it is in dishevel from surviving the craziness going on outside. A picture perfect clean house would be the last thing on your mind trying to survive Bon Temps now days! You can scatter newspapers, boxes, etc through out the rooms you are using for your party.
Make signs with messages of doom to hang around the house.
For your Food table, think survival foods. Trail mix, granola, etc., use your imagination and be creative with your survival foods. You can print up mock survival food packaging to use to package party foods in. You can use canned foods like soup, tuna, chicken, etc, as decor and also to elevate foods on your table. Don't forget to have plenty of water bottles available! Emergency candles can be used for lighting and decor also.
Medicine is a must have for survival. You can make a medicine candy bar with assorted colored candies that look like pills and present them in multiple clean pill bottles.
Don't forget to arm your guests with weapons to protect themselves from the infected vampires! These wooden stakes would make great favors to remember your party!
These are just a few ideas to get you started on throwing a kick ass survival party! Make sure all your guests survive the night to see the sun once more!
