Shawn Mendes will be bringing a playful and passionate performance to Manila on March 18, 2017 at Mall of Asia Arena. The 18 year old teen pop sensation first began uploading videos of his covers on Vine, a social media video site and app, in 2013. Soon, his videos had been played millions of times and he had a legion of followers. This early fame was based on six-second clips of covers of many pop songs. By the summer of 2014, he was ranked number three in terms of followers on Vine. Andrew Gertler, artist manager, then came across Mendes early in 2014. He invited him to audition for Island Records, and Mendes was soon signed to the label. Island issued the teen’s single debut, “Life of the Party”, that June. The youngest musician to release a Top 25 debut on Billboard’s Hot 100, Mendes’ first song was ranked 24th in the week of July 12th, 2014.
