A Chicago police Officer who was already in legal trouble was arrested Wednesday on federal charges for allegedly planning the murder-for-hire of a former Fellow Police Officer.
Authorities say Jerome Finnigan, 44, was plotting the murder of an officer who was a potential witness against him in an ongoing federal investigation and a pending state criminal prosecution.
Police Officer Finnegan tried to have a Fellow Cop killed.
Officer Finnegan was part of a group of crooked officers who were charged with shaking down residents for cash using their badges as intimidation. Basically armed robbery. Not satisfied with being an armed robber he tried to hire a hit man to kill a Fellow police officer who was going to testify against him. Again the parallel to real criminals is astounding. A group of cronies get arrested, some turn state evidence to get a sweeter deal and the other defendant wants revenge. He went as far as trying to hire a professional hitman to carry out his evil mission.
