Ben-Hur movie remake billboards...

No matter how much advertising money Paramount Pictures and MGM Studios throw at the new version of Ben-Hur, nothing can get away from the fact that this is another unnecessary movie remake, especially of such a legendary Hollywood epic.
The 1959 version of Ben-Hur scored eleven Academy Awards, including the Best Actor Oscar for Charlton Heston in the memorable titular role of the betrayed Jewish noble sold into slavery who returns to seek revenge against those that wronged him.
This 2016 movie is the fourth adaptation of the 1880 novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, by Lew Wallace and sees Jack Huston don the slave's loincloth and sandals, and spend five years at sea rowing on a Roman galley and racing chariots to get his redemption.
These new Ben-Hur movie billboards certainly capture the spirit of a grand chariot race and were first spied along La Cienega Boulevard on July 21, then later snapped along the Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard through August 1, 2016.
For another Roman Empire era remake, be sure to check out these Spartacus TV billboards, whilst for more faith-based offerings, you can also take a look at these A.D. The Bible Continues TV billboards, these Noah movie billboards and these Exodus: Gods and Kings movie billboards.
Can this reimagining of a classic story by director Timur Bekmambetov return audiences to the heydey of cinema, or will it just be a hay day for the horses pulling the chariots (at just under a reported $100 million to produce, that's some expensive hay).
