Plot Summary
A cocky test pilot, Hal Jordan ('Ryan Reynolds' ), acquires superhuman powers when he is chosen by "the Ring", the willpower-fed source of power, of the Green Lantern Intergalactic Corps. Timp de cateva secole, pacea si ordinea in Univers a fost mentinuta de catre un grup restrans, dar puternic de razboinici intergalactici reuniti sub titulatura de Green Lantern Corps, fiecare membru detinand cate un inel de culoare verde ce ii confera forte supranaturale. Atunci cand luptatorul Green Lantern Abin Sur este grav ranit si isi da seama ca va muri pe Terra, ii cere inelului magic sa ii gaseasca un inlocuitor demn de incredere si il cunoaste astfel pe pilotul de incercari Hal Jordan, caruia ii incredinteaza secretul lui si onoarea de a deveni primul pamantean recrutat vreodata in armata Green Lantern Corps. Incurajat de catre Carol Ferris, o femeie-pilot de care este indragostit din copilarie, dar si initiat de catre mentorul Sinestro in tainele bataliei pe care o poarta razboinicii Green Lantern impotriva unui dusman mult mai periculos decat toti cei cu care s-au confruntat anterior pe nume Parallax, Hal Jordan intelege ca soarta planetei Pamant si chiar a intregului Univers sta in mainile sale intrucat el detine o calitate cu care nu se poate lauda niciunul dintre noii lui camarazi: umanitatea.
