It Rained here yesterday afternoon and early today. It is a relief though because of the too high heat index lately. Obviously summer is already here. But some find it gloomy when it rains. They do not want to get wet and plans are pushed back because of it.

But, I consider rain as splendid. Why? Take a look.

1) Rain reminds me of a simple life in the province. When I was young and when it rained, we just sat down and relax and exchange talks on dreams and hopes knowing that we will play with the other kids after the rain.

2) It is so nostalgic of the happiness we felt when we played in the rain. Mama allowed us once and she prepared a hot white rice and home made longganisa for us sisters after.

3) Rain gives a cool effect after it pours. It removes all the heat which for me hinders a lot of activities we played when we were kids.

4) It also gives this different kind of smell after. I am not sure if this is weirdness but the smell is so great after the rain.

5) Rain taught me patience with strength. When it rained and Ma and Pa were not yet home I have to take good care of my younger sibs. It molded me to be the Ate I had to be.

You see? When it rains it brings me back to my childhood days. I really miss those times. When it rains it reminds me how simple life is in the province hoping brought only by the sincerest source of happiness, simple living with the family.
