a word of caution using loctite

I know that common sense would state that you should follow specs exactly when fixing or rebuilding your quad and i did... for the most part. I just did a Bottom end rebuild directly from the manual but 1 of the few exceptions i made was using regular Loctite in a few locations that called for #243 which is the oil resistant version of the product. So,i got the atv all back together and it started (to my amazement). I ran it at idle for a few minutes then proceded to go through a short break in ride. 5 minutes in i heard a slight knocking so i started heading back to the truck and didn't make it back and would not start.

I just finished getting the engine back out and opening it up to find that 3 bolts had removed themselves from the exhaust cam gear causing timing to be constantly off and potentially ruining internal components.

I have tested out bottom end and everything there seems ok and i also recovered all the lost bolts. it seems the only damage i have found so far is a slight scuff on top of one of the exhaust cam lobes.

Hopefully my oversight will help someone else in the future. Below is a picture of my camshaft just wondering if you think it is enough of a scuff for me to replace or if you would just let it be.
