I got a chance to catch up with Patrick Ambrose who is creating a movement of his own. He has a record label and hosts events in the NYC area.


Tell us a little bit about what you do.

I'm a former Music Producer, DJ and Artist. Currently, I manage a few hip hop artists (DZMusic718, YungGodz718, and King Diego), promote Indie concert events and run the record label Real Hit Songs/ Boss Fam Group with Orease.

Whats next for you?

Helping the current artists on my label become stars, finding and cultivating new talent and starting and being responsible for groundbreaking Entertainment ventures.

Who are some of your favorite artists?

My favorite artists are Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Lil Wayne, Outkast, Remy Ma and Nas.

What do you think makes a great music artist?

Great visuals, albums/ content and cd covers/ artwork.

How do you feel about the current state of hip hop?

Hip Hop is in a great place it wont go anywhere; Mumble Rap is a sub culture it may not be around forever.

Are you interested in anything outside of music? clothing line, studio etc..

Definitely Radio and Music Education and building a Radio Station or Dance/ Music Studio.

Who are some of your favorite music producers of all time?

My favorite producers are Daz, Mannie Fresh, Teddy Riley, Just Blaze and Swizz Beatz



What should a new artist be doing in order to get buzzing?

A new artist needs to first establish a business team, come up with a marketing and branding strategy, have persons that can delegate and implement responsibilities across that team can use and last but not least You Tube and Soundcloud and using them effectively.

5 years In The Making (Collaboration W/ Mor. Bookings) April 6th at Mockingbird.
