Survivor: David Vs. Goliath Episode 11

Everybody turned on Alec as the challenge threat in Survivor: David Vs. Goliath Episode 10 and voted him out despite his long history of trying to be on the fence.

After Tribal Council, Alison does her best Gabby impression, crying to the person who consoles Gabby, Christian. She believes she is the next biggest physical threat.

For the reward challenge, they will climb a ladder, leap off it, dive and retrieve buoys, and jump and land them in a series of baskets. Reward is a cruise. Kara selects Carl, Davie, and Mike; Angelina picks Nick, Gabby, and Alison. Christian is sitting out. Kara’s team has a bit of a lead heading into the baskets. Nick scores first. Davie ties it. Carl takes the lead. Nick ties it again. Davie scores again. Carl extends that lead. Davie scores a third time to win reward for Davie, Mike, Kara, and Carl.

This is Carl’s first reward, and he’s not shy about letting people know about it. Even the jury was unimpressed by his complaining.

Carl tells Kara his plan again. Alison is his next target. Why does he keep doing this? I guess it doesn’t matter. Didn’t hurt him last time. Well, it didn’t get him voted out last time at least. Kara says she’s going to do something to stop him.

Lucky for her, Gabby’s still complaining about Carl. She’s forced herself to the outside of the David group, leaving Christian as the only person in that group who still supports her. They still trust him, but they shouldn’t. He’s obviously closer to Gabby than he is to anyone else.

They’ve been eating too much. They’re almost out of rice with a week and a half left. Jeff will give them some more, but it’s going to cost them big. Angelina thinks she knows how to negotiate this deal. She offers the fishing gear, most of the cooking equipment, two chairs, hanging swing, and the remaining tea and coffee. He calls this a lowball offer and has a more interesting idea. Does anyone want to sacrifice their shot at immunity? Angelina volunteers for the second time in a row. That was a much easier sacrifice than all the other stuff she offered.

For the immunity challenge, they will race over an obstacle, spin around a post, cross a balance beam collecting puzzle pieces along the way, and solve a word puzzle. People normally struggle on these balance beams, let alone while trying to collect puzzle pieces and being dizzy. Not the most difficult beam, though. It all comes down to the puzzle. Carl spells a valid and appropriate word, but it’s not what Probst is looking for. Davie wins immunity.

Mike’s in the middle of the two camps and will be the deciding vote. He agrees with Alison that she’s a physical threat, but he also agrees that Carl is annoying, albeit annoying enough that he probably can’t win.

Gabby wants to break free of the perceptions that she’s emotional and hysterical. Oh. Good luck. We see this sort of thing in Big Brother all the time, but she’s unusually emotional for a Survivor player (even if it is just an editing choice) and very self aware of that.

With 5 votes, Carl has been voted off the island. They called him the godfather for some reason, which led to his demise. The worst part is that now Gabby thinks she did something.
