If you’re a @TVtimesThree Podcast listener and have been wondering where the podcast has been, then you may enjoy this #TVx3Binge. Episodes have continued to be recorded over the summer, but due to travel and just taking some time off I haven’t been getting them out on the regular. But, over the last week I was finally able to get them all edited and dropped five new episodes last night: Ep.381: ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX & NBC Fall TV Preview 2017, Ep.380: Younger Mercedes Game, Ep.379: The Orphan Mercedes Game, Ep.378: Do Book the Younger People and Ep.377: San Diego Comic-Con Recap 2017. There should be another new episode tomorrow and then our Cable & Streaming Fall TV Preview episode on Wednesday. There won’t be episodes the following two weeks, but should be back to the regular weekly schedule come the end of October.

Prime Picks

The Simpsons (FOX): Season Premiere. The family is in a magical world where they must save Marge’s mother, which leads to an uprising against the king.
Ghosted (FOX): Series Premiere. A former detective, played by Craig Robinson (The Office), and a genius believer in the supernatural, played by Adam Scott (Parks & Recreation), are recruited to find a missing secret government agent. Will you be investigating this one tonight?

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS): Season Premiere. Hetty retires and then disappears. The new director shows up and immediately begins making changes. Sam continues to mourn his wife and no longer wants to partner with Callen.

Ten Days in the Valley (ABC): Series Premiere. Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) plays a TV writer on a cop show that has her daughter abducted. Her ex-husband is the prime suspect as the investigation begins. Has some problems, but the cast is great and if you like suspense mystery thrillers where seemingly everyone is a suspect, then you’ll probably like it like I did. Are you going to spend any time in the valley?

Solid Selections

Wisdom of the Crowd (CBS): Series Premiere. The head of a big software company, played by Jeremy Piven (Entourage), leaves after announcing his new project, which is a system that lets people submit tips regarding crimes and then processes through them to find the relevant ones. He hopes it will help him find the person that really killed his daughter. Not the best, but if you like CBS procedurals then you might enjoy this twist on the genre. Will you be watching?

The Deuce (HBO): New. Vincent gets an offer from Rudy. Longo does whatever it takes to get things back to normal. Candy is interested in someone. Runs 65 minutes. Plays again later two times. Last week’s episode, “The Principle Is All,” replays right before over on HBO2.

Episodes (Showtime): New. Matt wants a writing credit on the new show and Beverly and Sean disagree. Carol is thinking about getting out of the biz. Runs 30 minutes. Plays again later two times. Last week’s episode, “Episode 505,” replays earlier this evening.

Other Options

  • Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO): Season Premiere. Larry gets himself in trouble at the barber and with a new project. Runs 40 minutes. Plays again later two times.
  • Food Paradise (Travel Channel): New. The best places for melted foods in the U.S. are profiled. Another new episode follows. Both play again later. Six episodes replay right before.
  • SEAL Team (CBS): Encore. This past Wednesday night’s series premiere episode, “Tip of the Spear,” replays.
