In a recent interview with AVClub.com creator of Better Call Saul Vince Gilligan teased a little about what fans can expect in the continuation of the drama into its fourth season, still going strong. He touched on the fascinating story-lines as well as the darker situations our protagonist Jimmy/Saul will find himself in, telling us that it’s going to be an emotional roller-coaster for him.

“There’s some fascinating stuff coming. The show gets darker this season,” Gilligan said, “I think it’s still going to have moments of humor and those fun Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill moments—I don’t know that they’ll ever go away completely. But as you would expect from the end of season three, Jimmy’s in for quite an emotional ride.”

Speaking about the timeline, and how close Better Call Saul is getting to catching up to the beginning of Breaking Bad, Gilligan said, “Every year gets us closer to Jimmy McGill becoming Saul Goodman, and this year will be no different. The worlds of Jimmy and Saul are coming together, and therefore it stands to reason the worlds of Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad are overlapping deeper and deeper into one another as well.”
